Butterflies Galore!

Good Morning

A very warm welcome to my blog.

My card today is for entry into the current Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge which has a theme of beautiful borders.  Here is my card:

I think you'd be hard pushed to get a more beautiful border than this Butterflies Flying Among The Vines Mesh Border (B401) from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I can't resist butterflies and have used just a few of my collection to make this card.

I used Centura Pearl Card to make an 8 x 8 card blank, which I then embossed with the Spellbinders A4 Garden Lattice embossing folder.  I cut the Polynesian Sails Oval from Centura Pearl White with a hint of gold, and cut the Polynesian Sails Angel Wings from Centura Pearl Teal.  I used a Tonic die to cut the butterfly and flower in the centre of the doily and cut a small butterfly for the top corner, to which I added a small white pearl.  The flower in the other corner was cut using a die that came free in a magazine, and once again I added a white pearl to the centre.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Summertime Fun

I'm sorry I'm so late in posting my card for this months challenge over at Crafty Calendar.  This month our theme is Summertime Fun and we have been sponsored by Squiggle Fly and they gave the design team some images to craft with.  I chose this great image of a Campervan and here is my card:

I printed the image onto Neenah card and coloured using Spectrum Noir pencils.  This is the first time I've used them and they are lovely to work with.  I blended using baby oil and am quite pleased with the result.

The lovely papers I've used (which decided the colours I would used for colouring in the image) are Nitwits Collection and came free recently with a magazine.

I used bold cardstock from Create and Craft.  A Martha Stewart punch was used to create the scalloped border.  The ribbon was also from Create and Craft and tied on my Bowdabra.

Here is my card for the challenge:

Made using 'Owl Always Love You' digi stamp.

I printed the image onto Neenah card and coloured using Spectrum Noir pens and added pearls around the eye.  The backing papers came free with a magazine, and were matted onto black cardstock.  I used a Martha Stewart deep edge punch to create the decorative edges.  The leaves were die cut using a Cheery Lynn die and the flower was created using Prima flowers.

CD Sunday Challenge - Tots to Teens

This is my entry into the current challenge at CD Sunday - Tots to Teens:

I used the gorgeous Daisy and Friends cd-rom from Joanna Sheen to create this card.

CD Sunday Challenge - One For The Boys

Good Morning

The current challenge over at CD Sunday is 'One For The Boys'.  I needed to make a birthday card for my brother-in-law and used Joanna Sheen's Tom Mielko cd to make this card:

I printed off the decoupage onto glossy photo paper and the backing paper onto super smooth.  I used red card from Papermill for matting.  I didn't want to over-embellish the card and distract from the beautiful image, so I simply added a Yacht charm to the corner of the card using bakers twine.

CD Sunday Challenge - Victorian Beauties

The latest challenge set by the ladies over at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog is Victorian Beauties.  I recently purchased Joanna Sheen's Victorian Companion triple cd set from ebay, and immediately turned to this cd set to make my card:

The main image was printed onto Glossy photo paper and matted onto black linen effect card. I printed 2 backing papers from the same cd's onto super smooth paper.  I matted the beige onto the same black card and cut a strip from the teal to put across the card.  Then, from the same paper, I cut a bow, 2 butterflies (using a tonic die) and the Happy Birthday Sentiment (using Tattered Lace sentiment dies).  Finally I added a pearl to the centre of the bow.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Sunshine and Showers

Hello

Can you believe yet another month has flown by and it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and our theme is Sunshine and Showers.

Here is my card:

I've used the Robyns Fetish image My Spring Garden which I printed onto Neenah card and coloured using Coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil.  I cut around the image using Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25 and used another die from the same set to cut the blue frame.  The backing paper is from Crafter's Companion Annabel and Adam range and I used a Spellbinders embossing folder on the blue card.  I used  Memory box Riviera corner die on green pearlescent paper.  I used a free die from one of my cardmaking magazines to create some foliage and a combination of floral dies to create the flowers.  Pearls from my stash were added to the flower centres.

I also decorated the inside of my card to match the front:

For Someone Special

Good Morning

The current challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge is to make a card for Someone Special.  This is the card I made for my sister's birthday:

I used some photos of my sister when she was around 2 - 3 years old and placed them in frames created using Martha Stewarts' paper clay.  I used a spellbinders die to cut the mats for the photos to sit on.

I cut the large squares of card from white and purple pearlescent card and layered them up.  Pearl hearts from my stash were added to each corner.  I cut four corners using a Joy corner die (which I trimmed a bit off to make fit better) and die cut some flowers using a Cheery Lynn die, pearls were then placed in the centres of the flowers.  The backing paper is from CardCreations Plus Flowers In Bloom cd-rom.  The sentiment was cut from the purple pearlescent card using Tattered Lace sentiment dies.

Today is Lynne's birthday from Handmade With Love ....By Lynne and our team leader at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  Happy Birthday Lynne, I hope you have a great day, whatever you may have planned.

This is the card I made for Lynne (which hopefully has arrived by now so I'm not spoiling the surprise!!):

I followed the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  The image and backing papers are printed from the beautiful Flowers In Bloom cd-rom from Card Creations Plus.  The circle the image is sat on was cut using a Spellbinders die.  The leaves and flowers are Cheery Lynn dies and the sentiment is Tattered Lace dies.  The pearls are from my stash.

Good Morning

A warm welcome to my blog today.

This is my entry into the current CD Sunday Challenge which has a theme of Deco Drama.  I decided to make a diamond-top card, I don't remember making this style of card before.

I used papers from Debbi Moore's Glitter and Glitz Paris Glamour cd-rom and the topper from one of her magazines.  The black and gold card are from Paper Mill.  I used a spellbinders Fleur-de-lis die to cut the square that the image is sat on.  Some feathers and gems from my stash were used to embellish, and the sentiment and border were also from the cd.

April Crafty Calendar Challenge - Things With Wings and a DT Call

Good Morning

Another month has flown by and it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  We had lots of wonderful entries to our last challenge, so do remember to visit the challenge blog to see if you were our lucky winner or indeed one of our top 3.

This month our challenge is things with wings.  We are sponsored by the wonderful Elisabeth Bell Designs and I have used the beautiful Fairy Merrily Digi Stamp for my card:

I printed the image onto Neenah card and coloured using Spectrum Noir pens and added some Diamond Sparkles ultra-fine glitter to her wings.

I used the beautiful frame square die by Joy Crafts to cut into some glittered Core'dinations cardstock.  The backing paper is by Cupcake Crafting World and the pearls used in the corners from my stash.

Annabelle's Garden

Hi Everyone

I'm still really struggling with the side effects of my latest additional medication which is having a huge effect on my life in general and particularly my crafting.  I've always found crafting a welcome 'release' but just lately I'm finding it really difficult to motivate myself even to do any crafting.

I needed to make a birthday card and didn't know where to start, so I visited the Seems A Little Sketchy Challenge Blog to give me the much needed layout for my card.

I had some gorgeous printed panels and a paper pack from Wild Rose Studios (Annabelle's Garden) which I wanted to put to good use too, and here is my card:

I used a 6 x 6 scalloped card blank for my base.  Some mint green card from PaperMill was used for all my mats and the Happy Birthday greeting which was die cut using Tattered Lace sentiment dies.

I cut around the image using a C'art-us Scalloped circle die and inked around the edges using Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  I added this to the card using foam pads to add dimension.

The roses were created using Martha Stewart Paper Clay and a mould I purchased from Amazon.  This is great to use for embellishments as it is light as a feather.

The ribbon strip was re-cycled.  Some pyjamas I received as a present had this ribbon wrapped around them and I thought the colours matched my card perfectly.
