Holy Night

This week at Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge we are asked to make a card depicting some facet of the nativity.  Here is my card:

I created the card blank from pearlescent card and acetate and used papers from Making Cards magazine.  I added ribbon and card candi from my stash.

My card for today is an easel card, I love this style of card.

Martha Stewart Vintage Floral Punch Around The Page (I've wanted this punch for ages, I'm very happy!!)

Centura Pearl card

Backing paper came free in a magazine, it's gorgeous.

Joanna Sheen Cameo stamp used to create the butterfly lace corner, heat embossed with white fine detail embossing powder.

Spellbinders floral oval dies, largest embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder.

Marianne die used to create large butterfly, flourishes and large flower.  Memory box die use to create smaller flowers.

I was lucky enough to win some blog candy last week and decided to put it to good use straight away.

I followed the sketch over at Seems A Little Sketchy along with the current theme at Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is buttons and bows.  Here is my card:

Penny Black Stamp stamped onto Joanna Sheen's elegant satin paper using London Fog Memento ink and coloured using Spectrum Noirs.

Backing papers are printed from SWALK 2 cd-rom onto Satin Finish Printer paper.

Good Afternoon

The current challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy Challenge is a fab sketch to follow.  Here is my card:

I used one of the delightful images from the Daisy and Friends cd-rom from Joanna Sheen, I used a pre-coloured image as I wanted to decoupage the image.  I changed the spots on her tutu to brown to tie-in with the rest of the card.  I used a Nestabilies die to cut the shape of the mat from dark brown linen card.  I then created a faux nesties around the image.

The backing papers were from a magazine ages ago, and I thought went really well with the image.  The sentiment mat is cut using another nestie and the butterfly is a Marianne die.

I created the floral arrangement using Mulberry flowers and leaves, some feathers from my stash and a hat pin.

Di's Designs Pastel Challenge

Good Morning

The current challenge over at Di's Designs is Pastels.  Here is my card:

I printed this very cute digi stamp onto Neenah card and coloured the design using Spectrum Noir pens.  I'm really enjoying getting to grips with these pens and find colouring in very theraputic. I die-cut a mat from Core'dinations card using a Spellbinders die and then cut a faux mat around my image.

The lovely backing paper is from my favourite Pink Petticoat pad that came free with a magazine.  The doily is from my stash.  The flourishes are die cut with Marianne dies, and the flowers and punch with a floral punch I forgot I had, and then tiny black gems added to the centres.

Paint Fusion Sweet Peas

Hello

As soon as I saw the sweet pea decoupage on Sheena Douglass' new Paint Fusion cd-rom it was sold to me.  Here is my first card using this gorgeous image.

The base card is also printed from the cd-rom.  Using a glitter girls board to produce a frame, I embossed the base cardstock, and then some co-ordinating cardstock, to which I added border peel offs.  The butterfly is also printed from the cd-rom.  I printed it onto cardstock and then triple embossed it.

An Elegant Lady

Good Afternoon

I thought I'd share another calendar with you today, I hope you're not fed up of seeing them!

This is made using Joanna Sheen's ATC cd-rom, this was one of the first craft cd's I ever bought.  The backing papers are also printed from the cd-rom.  I decided on an easel style again as I think they display really nicely.  I used brown and gold cardstock for the matting and layering.  The calendar is sat on a mat cut using a Marianne die.  The butterfly is also a Marianne die with some pearls in the centre.  The roses and leaves are once again a Marianne die.

A Butterfly Trapeze

 Good Morning

My card for today is a birthday card I sent my lovely blogging friend Edna last month:

I wanted to make something a bit different so decided to make a trapeze card.  I embossed the outer card with a Sizzix embossing folder and added seed beads for extra detail.  The butterly in the centre is decoupaged.

Wedding Wishes

Good morning

My eldest daughter was asked to be a bridesmaid for her friends mum who was re-marrying this week.  The wedding was up in Scotland and they are travelling home as I type.

This is the card I made:

The base card I used is a beautiful pearlescent cream card.  The deep red is the colour of the bridesmaids dresses.  I embossed some cardstock with a cuttlebug folder and die cut the flowers, leaves and butterflies using Marianne dies.  A pearl was added to complete the flower, a ribbon bow and a co-ordinating rub-on sentiment were used to complete the card.

A Present For You

Good Morning

Emma loved her first day back at school and is very happy in her new class.  Murphy missed her terribly and is still sulking!!!

My card for today uses a Lili Of The Valley image.  This was one of 20 images that came free in a magazine.

I coloured the image using Coloursoft pencils.  The backing papers I've had for some time!  I punched the edges of one of the layers with a Martha Stewart border punch as I thought it worked well with the image.  The corner is a Marianne die with some little gems added.  The stars are cut using a die-namics dies, layered together.  I tied a bow into some bakers twine and then added two star charms to the tails of the bow.  The flower are the top of the card is a brad.

The inside of the card is decorated to co-ordinate with the front.
