Tranquil Days - Let's Celebrate

Hello and welcome to my blog.

This is a birthday card I have made for a friend using the gorgeous Paper Boutique Tranquil Days collection from Creative Crafting World:

The lilac card stock is a pearlescent card from Crafters' Companion.  The white card is Lynda Chapman's. The beautiful die cut frame, mat and circle with stitched detail, are from Creative Crafting World.  The ribbons and pearls are from my stash.

I haven't made a shaker card for a while, so decided to make one for my sister's birthday card:

A big warm welcome to my new followers, it's a pleasure to have your company.

The current challenge over at Willow Sketchie is a fab sketch together with the option of lots of layers.  Here is my card:

I used a decoupage image from the Tulip and Friends cd to provide my layers.  The backing papers are both from the cd, matted onto white cardstock.  I added the number on a Spellbinders label.

I decorate the inside of my card to tie-in with the front:

Easter Duckling

Good Morning

I've another Easter card to share with you today, again made with the lovely Giordano decoupage from Joanna Sheen.

I followed the sketch over at Willow Sketchie Challenge, along with their theme of embossing.

I used an 8 x 8 card blank and embossed some core'dinations cardstock.  I used a co-ordinating backing paper from an old issue of Making Cards magazine which I matted onto silver mirror card.  The sentiment mat was cut with a spellbinders die and I added a glittery flower and some silver leaves to complete the card.

Taking A Bath

Good Morning

I hope you've had a lovely weekend.  The sun is shining again today, just what the doctor ordered!

My card for today is the first I have made using the Tulip & Friends dvd from Do Crafts, this card is from the Hot Diggity Dog section.

This image is from the decoupage section, printed onto card.  I layered the image using foam pads and added glossy accents to all the bubbles. This is then matted onto core'dinations cardstock.

The backing papers and sentiments are also from the dvd.  I threaded white satin ribbon through the sentiment before attaching to the card.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge

Good Afternoon

The current challenge over at Crafty Sentiments Designs is to use 2 designer papers.  Here is my card:

I love this digi stamp from Crafty Sentiments.  She's a real cutie and a joy to colour in.  I printed her on Neenah card and coloured her using Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs.  I used 2 papers from a pad that came free with a magazine, I really love the papers in this pack.  I distressed the edges of the pink paper with my fab distressing tool (such fun!).  I punched the border of the turquoise paper with a Martha Stewart border punch.

I die cut the mat she is sat on with a spellbinders die, and then embossed it with a floral embossing plate.  I added some ink from a soothing sunset big and juicy ink pad with cut and dry foam.  The ribbon is from my stash.  The flower is build a blossom from La Pashe finished with a gem to tie-in with the flowers on the turquoise dp.

The CD Sunday Challenge - Around The World

Good Afternoon

A warm welcome to my new followers, I'm glad you like my cards.

My card for today is for the current challenge over at The CD Sunday Challenge which this week is Around The World.  I decided to go to Paris, and here is my card.

I am very pleased with how this card has worked out.  I printed a decoupage image from Debbi Moores Art Deco Paris cd-rom, along with a couple of backgrounds. I matted the decoupage onto some lovely pearlescent cardstock I got some time ago from papermill.  I matted the backgound onto some antique gold card and added some glitter to the tower and fireworks.  The roses are made from the same gold using a Marianne die.  The leaves are cut from black cardstock and gold embossing powder added to the stems.  The buckle is cut using a Memorybox die with black organza ribbon threaded through.

I used a second scene to decorate the inside of the card:

I cut some white card using a spellbinders die and gold embossed the edges so there is somewhere to write.

Just A Shade Late

Good Morning

My card for today is a belated birthday card for a friend.  I feel terrible that I forgot to send one in time for her birthday.  I've made this card using Joanna Sheen's Viva La Divas cd-rom.

I used the sentiment as it was on the cd-rom and just added her name.  The corners, flowers and swirls are all cut using Marianne dies and some gems added to finish.

Winter Friends Take 2

Good Afternoon

After making yesterdays card, I had quite a bit of left over backing paper on my desk.  I also had another look at it and decided I could make an improved version so here it is:

Once again, I used some decoupage from the Adorables cd-rom.  For this card I added some pinflair snow dust to the sign post and around their feet.  Another of the ironworks dies was used to mat the greeting onto.  The greeting is a stamp from Lili of the Valley and says "Happy Christmas Sending Love Across The Miles".  This card is for some very good friends of ours who live over a hundred miles away, I also thought the sentiment worked really well with the signpost.  I finally added some poinsettias made using a Marianne die, I think these look lovely when they're made up.

Peace and Quiet

Good Morning

It's absolutely bouncing down here today!!  Hope you have better weather.

My card for today is made using the Thomas Kinkade cd-roms from Joanna Sheen.

This was one of those cards I thought would be quick to make but actually took ages!

I printed this beautiful image onto matt photo paper and then divided it into 3 equal sections, the sections were than individually placed onto gold linen card and then the 3 pieces matted onto a green leather effect card stock.  The backing paper is also from the cd-rom and this was printed onto pearlescent paper.

A matching insert was added to complete the card.

A Walk In The Garden

Good Evening

I hope you are having a good weekend.  Rather typically, the Bank Holiday weather has been rubbish.  Thank goodness for crafting!

I am trying to make use of all my crafting purchases that haven't yet seen the light of day, and today's card is the first outing for this particular stamp set.  The card took me all afternoon to complete, but I am pleased with the result.

I followed the sketch over at Fussy and Fancy Challenge and the topic at The CD Sunday Challenge which this week is 'Just Because'.

All the stamps are from the same stamp plate from the Summer Adorables range by Jayne Nestorenko.  I stamped onto watercolour card using sepia versafine ink and coloured using Lyra Aquacolours.  The mat was created using a 'Get In Shape' template and I inked round the edges using Antique Linen distress ink.  The backing papers are printed from the Adorables cd-rom and all are matted onto silver mirri card.  The flower border is made using a spellbinders shapeabilities die carefully cut and then put together.  A gem is then added to the centres.  The flowers are cut using a die from the same set, layered up and then a gem added to the centre.

The inside of the card has been decorated to co-ordinate.

Father's Day Card

Hi

I'm going to make this short and sweet as these antibiotics are knocking me out and I just want to sleep!

This is the fathers day card I've made for my dad. He openly admits he can fall asleep at the drop of a hat, so this image just had to be for him!

Teddy Bo is coloured using pencils. The backing paper is from my stash. The mat behind the image and the die-cut embellishments are cut using Spellbinders Fleur de Lis dies. The oblong mat is embossed using a Sizzix embossing plate.

Bea's In Love

Good Morning

Hasn't the weather been strange over the last few days? Please come back Mr Sunshine!

I couldn't resist and just had to have another go at the current challenge over at TeddyBo. I love Teddy Bea and Bo and I love making easel cards, so here is my second entry to the current challenge.

I remembered to choose my papers before colouring in the image again, and these are some more papers from a previous edition of Making Cards magazine. I love the colour in these papers so it made it quite an easy choice for me. Teddy Bea is coloured using pencils. I've used a Marianne die (for the first time) to make the beautiful circular frame, and also the frame which holds the sentiment. The sentiment is a LOTV stamp.

The flowers are cut from the same papers using a Marianne die, the leaves are a x-cut embossing punch, and the centres are made using a punch. The ribbon is from my stash as is the heart charm which I felt worked really well with this card.

As well as the challenge at Teddy Bo, I would also like to enter my card in the Polka Doodles Challenge, which is also an easel card.

Today I really must finish my LIM card which is sat in bits on my desk!
