Good Morning

Over at Christmas Challenges (with sketches) there is a fabulous sketch to follow.  Here is my card:

I created a circular card blank and then matted gold linen card and a gorgeous paper from a Do-crafts goody bag.

I used my Marianne star border die to create the panel across the centre to which I added more paper from the same goody bag.  The sentiment is also from the goody bag.

I used a Nellie Snellen starwreath die to create the circle and a Nellie Snellen oval die to create the mat for the image.  

The stamp is by Stampendous, stamped onto black card with Versamark and embossed with fine detail embossing powder.

Snow Is Falling!!

Good afternoon.

It's only snowing on my card thank goodness!  This year I am determined to make Christmas Cards throughout the year so I don't end up with the usual last minute panic.  It's far more enjoyable if there's no time pressure.  My mojo's being a bit stubborn just now, so I was glad of the help of some Christmas challenges to get me cracking.

Here is my card:

I followed the current sketch over at Christmas Challenges (with sketches).  The image is from the SWALK winters cheer range, I love this image, those hats are fab!  I coloured the image with a combination of promarkers and coloursoft pencils and added some pinflair snow dust to the fur areas.  The backing papers are also from the cd-rom.  The die the image is sat on is a Marianne designs die, cut from core'dinations cardstock and then the embossed area sanded.  The snowflakes are also Marianne dies and the edge punch is  Martha Stewart.

I made a co-ordinating insert using My Craft Studio to complete the card.

Crafty Calendar December Challenge - Cold and Frosty

Good Morning

Don't the months fly by quickly?  It doesn't seem 2 minutes since I was invited to join the design team at Crafty Calendar and here we are on my 3rd month already!

Our theme for this month is cold and frosty and here is my card:

The image I have used is a digi stamp from Pollycrafts Swing and Slides range, I love this range of stamps! I coloured the image using promarkers and coloursoft pencils and added some Glossy Accents to the girls glasses, the snowmans nose, eyes and buttons.  I then added some Pinflair Snow Dust around their feet.

The backing papers are from Crafters Companion Snowman cd-rom.  The embossing uses an embossing plate that came in a bundle when I bought my big shot.  The mats that the image and sentiment are sat on are cut using spellbinders dies.  The crystal snowflakes have been in my stash for ages, they were ridiculously expensive and I find it difficult to bring myself to use them!!!  All the edges were distressed using Faded Jeans Distress Ink and Cut N Dry Foam.

A Monochromatic Christmas

Good Morning.

The current challenge over at Divas by Design is monochromatic.  Here is my card:

For my card I used an embossing folder that came free with a magazine last Christmas (the first time I've used it!).  I used Centura card for extra shimmer and after embossing the tree, added some midget gem frostings.  The backiing paper is from Making Cards magazine.  The snowflake border is a Memory box die which I chopped up to use it slightly differently.  The buckle is again a Memory box die with white and green organza ribbon running through it.  Finally, I added some gems to the snowflake border.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.

My card for today is made using one of the decoupage images on Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker cd-rom:

For a bit of a change, I used one of my glitter girls embossing boards for this card.  I embossed both the red and gold layers and then layered them up.  The teeny little gems are midget gem frostings.  I printed the image onto matt photo paper and once I had completed the decoupage added some glamour dust to add that 'compulsory' Christmas sparkle.  The sentiment is Lili of the Valley, sat on a Memory Box die-cut.

In The Pink

Hello

Hope the sun is shining and you are well.

Today's card is a Christmas card I have made to enter into a few challenges, and also to boost my Christmas Card stash.  I have never thought to make a pink Christmas card before but am pleased with how it's turned out.

The main image is a rubber stamp from the fabulous new Snowman set from Crafters Companion.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  The backing paper is printed from the accompanying cd-rom onto Centura Pearl paper.  I used my Lyra's for the colouring on the image and added a little of Pinflairs Ice Diamond around his feet. 

A Martha Stewart punch around the page set was used, and the individual snowflake are also made using punches, then layered up and some Ice Diamond added to the centres.  The mats that the snowman and sentiment are sat on are cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities.
