A Card For A Friend

Hello and welcome to my blog, thank you for visiting.

I'm busy creating items to sell on my stall at an upcoming Christmas Fayre.  Everything I sell is to raise funds for my Lourdes group so I hope there's a good turnout on the day!

My card today is one I made for a friend to let her know I was thinking of her:

I used a 6 x 6 card blank to which I added Lynda Chapman's Kraft Card.  I die cut the lace layer, and the mat the flowers are sat on, from Co'oredinations card using Tattered Lace dies.  The decoupaged flowers are also from Tattered Lace using a charisma image.  These dies and images are all from the recent Here and There collection. The sentiment was die cut using Tattered Lace sentiment dies.

Happy Anniversary

My friends' parents' are celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary this week and I was asked to make a card for them.  I know both my friend and her mum particularly like stitched cards so that is what I chose to make:

I stitched the roses using a diamond sparkly thread.  I created the aperture card with hammered card on the outside, the silver mirror, then white adorable scorable glitter card.

I added an insert which was printed from My Craft Studio Click Print Go Simply Sentiments:

Debbi Moore at CD Sunday Plus Challenge

Hello

A new challenge has started over at CD Sunday Plus Challenge and another sleepless night for me was filled perfectly making a card for the challenge.  This time the theme is anything goes with the request to use a Debbi Moore cd-rom.

Well it will come as no surprise to those of you that know me that I have quite a few Debbi Moore cd's, all very much neglected!  This time I used Art Deco Decoupage delights to create a Golden Wedding Anniversary card.

I used gold card for all my mats and printed the decoupaged image and sentiment onto glossy photo paper.  The backing paper and insert were printed onto Crafters' Companions' super smooth paper.  The die cut sentiment is by Sue Wilson (I love the font!).  Gold gems were added to each corner to complete the card.

I'm still crafting in my front room waiting for my new craft room to be available.  It's looking like this isn't going to be until next year so I'm very limited what I can get to to use at the moment.  There is so much stuff in my current craft room I can barely get through the door - disgraceful I know.  I keep telling myself not to buy more but I've no self discipline.  I think I'm in for some lovely surprises when I do finally move everything as I've very little idea what I've actually got.  I'm determined to sort through everything properly before I move it and only keep what I think there's a chance I will at come point use.  I still make cards for charity, and I'm hoping to do this on a larger scale when my new craft room is up and running.  Best laid plans!

Just For You

Now I know my card has reached the recipient, I would like to enter it into the current challenge at CD Sunday Plus Challenge 21 which has a theme of 'Anything Goes' as long as something from a craft CD, USB or a Digital image has or have been used somewhere in the making of your project.

All the dies used are from Tattered Lace.  The frame and floral dies are from the Here and There collection and the dies are from a Sentiment collection that I've had for ages.  I used Lynda Chapman's 6 x 6 card blank, Lynda Chapman's Kraft Card and the red card is Core'dinations which I bought from Crafters' Companion.

I made this card for a fellow crafter, Carol, who has recently had eye surgery.  I've been online friends with Carol for a long time and thoroughly enjoyed making this card for her.  I'm delighted to say that she was both surprised and pleased to receive it.

A Bree Merryn Birthday Card

My eldest daughter has recently celebrated her 26th birthday! I don't know where the time has gone!  She loves wildlife, so I turned to one of my Bree Merryn CD-rom's from My Craft Studio to make her birthday card:

I folded an A4 sheet of card lengthways and slotted my sentiment through a slit in the top. The sentiment is a Crafters Companion die cut from Lynda Chapman's chocolate brown card and layered onto her craft card.

The images were printed onto watercolour card and I created decoupage layers for each image.  These were then added using foam pads, with the central image raised higher than the  other two.

A Bouquet Sent With Love

Hello and Welcome

The card I would like to share with you today is one I have made for a friend who is currently in hospital undergoing chemotherapy.  As flowers are no longer allowed in hospitals, I thought this was the next best thing:

I used Lynda Chapman's white card to create the card base, gingham card from Create & Craft and Charisma images from Tattered Lace for the flowers.  I then die cut the vase and flowers using the accompanying Tattered Lace dies, all from the Katy Jackson Graceful Garden Collection.

Although the Tattered Lace decoupage designs do take me longer to put together, I have to say they are well worth the effort, and I love the charisma images and I am not the best at colouring!

I would like to enter my card into the latest challenge over at CD Sunday Plus Challenge Blog - Challenge 20, Anything Goes.

Yesterday, hubby and I took our youngest daughter Emma to Lancaster University ready for her to start a 4 year course in Maths.  I cried all the way home!  I am so proud of her and all her achievements and now hope she settles in well and enjoys the course.  I am missing her like crazy!

Finally, can I please ask for your advise?  I am soon to be getting a new craft room.  I am moving from our smallest bedroom to a  much bigger room.  I have loads of ribbons, both on reels and loose, which I seldom use because they are not in any kind or order.  Please could you tell/show me how you store yours?  I am determined to have them more accessible in the future so that I will finally get to use some of them.  Thanks in anticipation.

Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome to my blog today.

I am addicted to making decoupaged flowers (which is a good job considering my new supply of tattered lace dies!). I hope I don't bore you with them!  This week I've used them to make a birthday card for a friend:

I used charisma and dies from the Autumn Allure range, additional dies from Tattered Lace and card blank and gingham card from Create & Craft.

I'm pleased to say my friend loved her card.

CD Sunday Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello and welcome to my blog

Today I would like to share with you the card I have created for the current CD Sunday Challenge:

My craft room isn't very accessible at the moment.  I desperately need more space so am currently crafting in my living room with limited supplies!  My printer is still accessible so I was able to print off a sheet of co-ordinating paper from a Creative Crafting World Perfect Companion cd-rom to die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment, using a Papercuts die from Creative Expressions. 

The patterned card and topper were from Kanban's Love your Pets kit.  I added some silver card for a mat and die cut the name from the same card using an x-cut alphabet die.

Kimono - Happy Birthday

This is my entry into the latest challenge over at CD Sunday which is an anything goes challenge:

I used the Kimono cd from Crafters Companion and chose to decoupage the image.  I embossed some pink cardstock from PaperMill using one of the embossing folders from the same range,  I die-cut the images from the same cardstock using dies from the Kimono range.  I also used some silver mirror card for my mats.

CD Sunday Challenge - Anything Goes

It's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge.  A close friend of mine has a birthday this week and she loves flowers. This is the card I made her:

I used a 6 x 6 card base and silver, purple and white card.  I used harlequin dies from tattered lace to create my layers.  The fuchsia's were printed from My Craft Studio Garden Party fuchsia cd-rom.  The flowers in the bottom corner are from the My Craft Studio Autumn Allure collection.  The sentiment was die-cut using a Sue Wilson Creative Expressions die.

CD Sunday - 9th Birthday

CD Sunday are celebrating their 9th Birthday.  I love this challenge as it encourages me to use my CD's.  As it's a special celebration, I've gone to town and made three cards using a different cd for each.  My first card used the BeBunni baby cd-rom from Crafters' Companion.  I've made an eclipse card to welcome a new baby:

I used Create and Craft Glitter Card for the mat and flowers.  Hunkydory large alphabet dies for the letters, Sue Wilson Dies for the flowers and pearls from my stash.

Happy Birthday From House Mouse

I love the house mouse, happy hoppers and gruffies images, they never fail to make me smile and I think when they are decoupaged it really brings them to life.  Decoupage remains my favourite technique although I am finding it more difficult to do with the deterioration in my eyesight and the arthritis in my hands.  What joy!  This card I made for one of my daughters; friends.

The decoupage image was printed from the House-mouse decoupage cd-rom from Joanna Sheen.  I think the backing paper was printed from the same cd-rom but I forgot to make a note, sorry!

I used an 8 x 8 card blank and Lynda Chapman's kraft card for all my mats.

Thelwell - Happy Birthday Megan

My niece Megan has just celebrated her birthday.  She is a big horse lover and this is the card I made for her.  

Over at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog Meg is hosting the challenge which has a theme of 'Anything Goes using something from a craft cd'.  My card uses Crafters' Companions Thelwell cd-rom.

I made up one of the frame cards, which is also decoupaged.  I used a banner die also from crafters companion to create the bunting, and stamped the name using alphabet stamps from Dimension stamps.

Over at the Seize The Birthday Challenge they also have a theme of 'Anything Goes', I would like to enter my card in this challenge also.

CD Sunday Challenge Anything Goes

Hello and welcome to my blog today.

May I start by wishing all my visitors a happy and healthy New Year.

The first challenge of 2019 has begun over at the CD Sunday Challenge and the theme for this challenge is Anything Goes.  Here is my card:

I used The Big One cd-rom from La Pashe to create my card, the decoupaged images and backgrounds were printed from the Flippin' Men section,  I added the decoupage to acetate as you get both a front and back view of the images.

I used a Peel off sentiment, a sentiment from the decoupage sheet, peel off numbers and die cut letters to personalise the card.
