At The Bottom Of The Garden

 Hello and welcome

My card for today is made using one of the brilliant ranges from Carnation crafts and is for a friends birthday:

I used one of the dies in the set to create my card blank. I printed out a variety of the free vignettes that Carnation crafts generously provide,  then die cut and decoupaged the images before arranging them on my card.

I die cut the sentiment and it's mat using dies from Paper Boutique.

Cuties In Booties - For A Challenge

Hello and welcome

One of my favourite artists is Bree Merryn.  I have a number of cd-roms featuring her artwork and I am eagerly awaiting the latest Christmas cd-rom from Creative Crafting World.

I wanted to make a card to send to a friend who isn't very well at the moment.  This is what I came up with:

I used the 'Cuties In Booties' cd-rom, from My Craft Studio.  I created a 6 x 6 card using a fancy edged card blank from my stash.  I used Lynda Chapman's Kraft card for all the mats, and printed everything onto CCW's Fabriano digital paper.  I raised the layers using foam pads and finished with some gems from my stash.

I would like to enter my card into the current challenge at Allsorts challenge which has a theme of 'So Cute'.

Cosy Hedgehog

I'm cutting it fine for the current challenge at The CD Sunday Challenge, I'm going to make it just in time!  The theme this week is Autumn Splendour. Here is my card:

Image and backing papers from Docrafts cd-rom Woodland Folk and Friends

Leaves punched from Core'dinations card

Corner stamps are Midget gem frostings from the glitter girls, heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder.  Tiny orange gems from same set.

Sentiment mat is a Spellbinders die, and I've used a peel off greeting and border peel offs around the edge of the design.

I've another Christmas card to share with you today, made to meet the criteria for a few different challenges:

I created a stepper card for this card.

Red and silver mirror card was used for all the matting and layering.

The three small pictures are attached to the card using strip of acetate to make them 'boing'

I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the snowflake which were then stuck at randon to the card.

I used a corner rounder punch throughout.

Swirl cut with a Dienamics die from lilac card from PaperMill and gems added

Floral arrangement created using pins from Wild Orchid Crafts, Charm from ebay, flowers and feathers from my stash.

Sentiment is a WOW stamp, stamped in metallic silver ink.

Image Jerry Kisses digi stamp from Pollycraft, coloured with Spectrum Noir pens.

Mat cut using Spellbinders reverse wonky rectangles die from Core'dinations card.

Sentiment banner is created with a spellbinders label die, sentiment is a peel off.

Bunting is created using a Nellie Snellen diamond die, folded in half and attached to bakers twine.

Backing paper has been in my stash for ages, inked round the edge with Antique Linen DI.

I bought this lovely digi stamp some time ago from Pollycraft and this is the first time I've used it.  I followed the current sketch at Dies To Die For Challenge.  Here is my card:

Image printed onto Neenah card and colour using Spectrum Noir pens.

Mats cut using spellbinders fleur de lis rectangle dies.

Backing paper printed from SWALK 2 cd-rom, distressed around the edges with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

Core'dinations card embossed using a Darice embossing folder and sanded slightly.

Fleur De Lis border die used to cut central strip.

Die-namics star die used to created the stacking stars.

Happy 21st Birthday

I was asked to make a card for a 21st birthday with a theme of 'horses'.  Here is my card:

I used Centura Pearl card for the base and Core'dinations Gemstones and Silver Matt card for the matting and layering.

The image is from Joanna Sheen's furry friends cd-rom, printed twice onto glossy photo paper so I could decoupage the image.

The flower arrangement comprises of feathers, hat pins, mulberry flowers, Marianne die-cuts and white ribbon.

The sentiment is Lili Of The Valley, heat embossed with Silver Detail embossing powder sat on a mat cut with a Spellbinders ironworks die.

This is the inside of the card:

I scored my card on my Ultimate pro at the gatefold lines.  I embossed the central section using my Keepsake Majestic embossing board and carefully cut around the shape.

I created the two ovals using the same embossing board and attached them with jump rings.  The butteflies were created using a Marianne Die. 

The panels were embossed using a Darice embossing folder from Crafters' Companion and little white pearls added for the flower centres.

Finally, I stamped the two flourishes using a Dimension Fourth stamp, and heat embossed with silver detail embossing powder.

I made a box from Centura Pearl card, using my boxer board, to house the card.

Centre image stamped again then Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel applied (5 layers)

Spellbinders Floral Oval die cut into black card. 

Corner stamped twice onto parchment paper and heat embossed.

Black edge strip punched with Martha Stewart deep edge punch.

White satin ribbon from Meiflower tied on Bowdabra.

Spring Kitten

Good Afternoon

The current challenge over at Crafters Companion Challenge is 'Spring'.  I chose to use one of my lovely new stamps from the Strawberry Kisses range:

I followed the sketch over at Willow Sketchie Challenge along with the theme of Embellish it.

The backing papers on my card are printed from the accompanying cd-rom.  The image is coloured with Spectrum Noir pens and a paper-pieced the plant pot using the backing paper.  The orange cardstock is core'dinations.  The flowers are punched using Nellie Snellen punch and emboss punches, finished in the centre with a little pearl.  The swirl leaves are a Marianne die cut from Core'dinations card and sanded slightly.

The centre of my card has been decorated to co-ordinate with the front:

To Mum With Love

Good Afternoon

A very warm welcome to my blog today.

My card for today is for Mothers' Day.

This is for my sister to send to mum.

I used the papers provided at Debbees CDs DT Challenge Blog, and followed the sketch over at Craft Challenge Blog.  I also made the card into a shaker to meet the challenge at Truly Scrumptious.

I took an 8 x 8 card blank to which I added a lovely mottled-effect cardstock.  I added the 2 backing papers following the sketch.  I made an acetate window for my shaker, and added glitter beads, hearts and stars to produce the shaker effect.

The sentiment mat is a Spellbinders die with peel offs added.  I chose two co-ordinating ribbons to produce my bow - with the help of the bowdabra of course!

Tatty Ted Birthday

Good Morning

I hope you've had a lovely weekend.

The challenge for this week at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog  is recycling.

Here is my card:

I used Do Crafts Especially For You cd-rom for my card and printed the main image from the decoupage section and the backing paper from the same cd.

I took some core'dinations card and ran it through my big shot with a happy birthday embossing folder.  I then sanded it to bring out the core.  I cut the stars using a die-namics die, again from core'dinations.

The ribbon is re-cycled and was wrapped around some pyjamas my daughter got as a present.  I tied it using the Bowdabra, fastened the bow with some bakers twine and then added a couple of star charms.

Good Morning

My card for today is made using a combination of die-cuts and embossing folders.

The base card is a pearlescent cream from PaperMill.  I embossed some gold mirror board with D'vine swirls embossing folder.  I then embossed some of the cream pearlescent card with a swirly frame embossing folder.  I printed the wording in gold in the centre of the frame.  I combined 2 gold ribbons to make the bow, and die-cut the flowers and leaves from gold card using Marianne Dies.  A pearl was then added to the centre of the flower.

Tea-Time

I hope you're having a good weekend.  We've got sunshine here which is lovely.

My card for today uses Joanna Sheen's Patience Strong cd-rom for the main image, and flowers from The Big One cd-rom, build a blossom:

I used a scalloped-edge 6 x 6 card blank which I scored to produce the diamond pattern.  I matted the image onto gold linen card.  I cut out the roses and leaves, shaped them with various tools, and then added a pearl to the centre of each.  My first attempt at these particular flowers, they took some time to make but I am pleased with the result.

Happy 90th Birthday

Good Morning

I have been asked to make a 90th Birthday card for a Mum.  This is what I came up with.

I thought that this image from Joanna Sheen's Jane Shasky cd-rom was perfect.  This is from the decoupage section, printed onto glossy photo paper.  It took some cutting out but was well worth the effort, it decoupaged beautifully.  I used some pearlescent card for the base card, and scored the diamond pattern using my boxer board from Crafters Companion.  The sentiment mat is a spellbinders die to which I added a peel off and some gems.

I wanted to make the card extra-special for such a landmark birthday.  I have tried to make this style of card in the past, but have never been very happy with the finished result.  Well recently, I purchased a Crafters Companion Ultimate Pro with the loyalty points I had built up.  I followed the instructions and hey presto - this is the inside of the card:

It all came together perfectly.  I printed one of the backing papers from the Jane Shasky cd directly onto pearlescent cardstock, twice.  On one of the sheets, I scored and embossed using my ultimate pro and cut out the butterfly shape.  The dangly butterfly is a Marianne die, which I cut twice, once on co-ordinating cardstock and once onto yellow vellum.  I layered them together and added gems on the butterfly wings.  This was then attached using tiny jump rings.  I die cut two shapes using spellbinders ironworks motifs, added the number 90 to the centre of each, and attached to the inside of the card with foam pads.

Finally I printed a smaller panel of the same backing paper, which was added to the back of the card for the sender to write their message on.

My Valentine

Good Afternoon

My card for today uses one of the lovely SWALK stamps, this is its first inking!

I coloured the image using promarkers and coloursoft pencils.  I printed the heart pattern directly onto card from a Crafters Companion Popcorn cd-rom.  I printed onto both sides of the card.  I cut an aperture using a Spellbinders die to create a shaker card.  Here is a close up of the shaker:

The sentiment is computer generated, the label is a spellbinders die.

The CD Sunday Challenge - Zodiac

Good Evening

My card for today follows the theme over at the CD Sunday Challenge and the fab sketch over at Willow Sketchie Challenge:

This lovely image is from Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams cd-rom.  This just happens to be my star sign, and I love this image and the gorgeous colours.  I printed the image onto glossy photo paper.  The backing paper, also from the cd-rom, is printed onto a pearlescent paper for a softer look.  The other panel is core'dinations card, embossed using Divine Swirls embossing folder and then sanded slightly.  The ribbon border is 2 different widths of organza ribbon gathered.  I decided to try my hand at making flowers from the ribbon, and am quite pleased with how they've turned out.  I then threaded a hat pin with some co-ordinating beads which I added to the flowers.
