Christmas In Pink

My card for today follows the sketch over at Delightful Challenges and the theme at The CD Sunday Challenge which is Christmas in Pink.  I've used the Christmas In Mulberry Wood cd from Crafters' Companion to create my card.  Here is my card:

6 x 6 card blank

Image printed onto Watercolour card
Polar white flowersoft was added to the hat.

Core'dinations card embossed with a Darice embossing folder and sanded.

Both backing papers are from the cd-rom, printed onto Satin paper.

The sentiment is again from the cd.

I cut some of the left over backing paper into triangles to create some paper beads to add to the card.
I tied a double bow on the bowdabra and then attached the beads.

Summer Showers

Welcome to my blog this afternoon.

Whatever is happening with the weather?  We had a tremendous hail stone shower earlier this afternoon and now it's glorious sunshine.  You just don't know where you're up to.  Anyhow, my card is quite appropriate for today!

Image is one of 15 ready-stamped images that came with a previous edition of Cardmaking and Papercraft, coloured with colour soft pencils blended with baby oil.

I added glossy accents to the puddle and raindrops although it doesn't show up too well in the photo.

The papers are from Making Cards magazine, one of the Nancy Watt collections, card is core'dinations.

Sentiment was from a free stamp set, stamped in Soothing Sunset ink and heat embossed.  It is sat on a mat cut with a Nellie Snellen round Lily die.

Bunting created using bakers twine and Nellie Snellen diamond die.

The little floral brads and pearls are from my stash.

Do you like the card stand?  I ordered one of the new Joy cutting dies which arrived today so I gave it a try. It's perfect for this size of card and I think it looks really pretty.

Wedding Doves

Good Morning

I thought I'd share one of my cross-stitched cards with you today as I haven't shown one for a while.  This was an extra-special wedding card I was asked to make and was stitched in the 'wedding colours':

The design was stitched on 18-count antique white aida fabric.

DMC threads and Kreinik metallic threads were used for the stitching.

I had to create my own aperture card from Centura pearl card, silver mirror card and burgundy pearlescent card.

I made the box using Centura pearl card.

Ready Teddy Go

Hello again

I've spent the afternoon in the company of my favourite teddy, Teddy Bea!

I happened across a new challenge called Ready Teddy Go and for their current challenge there is a fabulous sketch to follow.

Teddy Bea is coloured with coloursoft pencils.The sky was added with Distress Ink on a cotton wool ball.  The die cut shape is a Crafts Too die.  These are excellent value for money.  I go mine from Cupcakecrafting.  I created a faux die from Core'dinations for the image to sit on.

The backing paper  has been in my stash for ages and was from Making Cards magazine.  The pansies are from La Pashe 'The Big One' cd-rom, the Build a Blossom section.  I printed the sheets onto A6 size paper to get the size of pansies I wanted.

I hope you've enjoyed the Easter Weekend.

The current challenge over at Teddy Bo Challenge is Spring has Sprung.  Here is my card:

As soon as I saw this image at Teddy Bo and Co I knew that resistance was futile, I LOVE giraffes!

The image is coloured with Spectrum Noirs, Promarkers and Coloursoft pencils.  This was matted onto some gold linen then yellow card.  I embossed some Core'dinations card using a Darice woodgrain embossing folder and then sanded it slightly.  This was then matted onto black cardstock.  I punched a strip of Core'dinations with my Martha Stewart rabbit punch, then created the flowers using various floral punches and 'typical' spring colours.

I took an 8 x 8 card onto which I matted the adorable backing paper which was from a Making Cards magazine.  I used an EK success punch on some cream and pale blue paper and used the outline from the cream and butterflies from the blue, to produce the decoration for the top corner.

I couldn't leave out Teddy Bo and Bea so they are 'hiding' on the inside of my card:

I took a second 8 x 8 card to create the middle and lined it with Embossed Core'dinations card for the tree trunk and owl backing paper for the sides.  The pansies are Build A Blossom from La Pashe.

Rose and Sparkle

Good Evening

I'm back with another calendar today.

I used some of my new Christmas goodies to make this one - the Spellbinders die and the embossing folder.  As soon as I saw this embossing folder on Joanna Sheen's website, I knew this is how I would first use it.  The gems are also from Joanna's shop.  I made the roses using Marianne dies, the leaves are punched using a X-cut punch and some gold embossing powder added to the edges.  The tiny butterflies are made using a EK Success border punch.  I added some beads to a hat pin as an extra embellishment.

Just To Say ..... Thanks

Hello

I'm busy making lots of thank you cards at the moment.  This is one I sent to a friend a little while ago:

The is made using a set of stamps from Inkylicious.  I stamped the main image in Versamark and the heat embossed with white detail embossing powder.  I then applied colour from a big and juicy ink pad (hydrangea)using ink duster.  It is sat on a mat cut using a Nellie Snellen die.

I then stamped other flowers and grasses from the set using the same ink pad.  I love the colours in this ink pad.  I added the sentiment using satin ribbon and then matted this onto some silver mirror card.

The CD Sunday Challenge - Fifties Fun

Good Afternoon

The current challenge over at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog -is Fifties Fun.  I have made a calendar for a change this week and here it is:

I went straight to my Viva La Divas cd-rom from Joanna Sheen for this challenge.  I always have a good giggle looking through the images on this cd, and you can change the captions or names as I have done here.  The main image is printed onto photo paper and then matted onto holographic card.  The calendar is matted on the same card.  The flower is created using some Prima flowers from my stash, with a pearl in the centre. The leaves are created with a Nellie Snellen punch. Some co-ordinating ribbon was then threaded through some eyelets to complete the calendar.

My card for today is made using one of my favourite techniques, paper embroidery.

Teddy Bea Shines

Good Afternoon

The current challenge over at Teddy Bo is to make 'Anything But A Card', so I decided to make a candle!!  With a matching gift box of course.

 

I made the candle using paraffin wax and a large pillar candle mold.  I then printed Teddy Bea onto tissue paper 3 times, glittered her wings and then carefully applied the images to the candle.  Tiny gems were added at random to the candle.

For the box I printed Teddy Bea twice and again glittered her wings, I made up the box with an acetate front panel so the candle is visible.

One of Emma's teachers loves candles, so I decided that this would be a good end of term present for her.  I needed a matching card of course!!!!

The card is made using Teddy Bea decoupage.  The stars are my new stacking stars die-namics dies from Dies To Die for.  The flowers are Marianne dies as are the leaves.  The sentiment is LOTV.  The star punch is Martha Stewart.

Teddy Bea Sparkles

Good Morning

Firstly today I'd like to introduce you to the newest members of our family.

These gorgeous little guinea pigs are called Doodles and Maisie and belong to my daughters. I've always had a soft spot for guinea pigs, so am enjoying giving them regular cuddles.

Now onto my card. Back with my favourite Teddy again today, and this time this lovely Teddy Bea is sat amongst the twinkling stars.

She is coloured with pencils and then the image is cut out and attached to the card using an acetate 'boinger'!!!! The background is embossed with a Sizzix folder, and then I went over all the embossing with a Versamark pen and added 'Midnight Madness' embossing powder, the same powder was added to the edge of the moon. In real life it all twinkles beautifully, but I just can't capture it on camera.

The background was then matted onto some holographic silver cardstock to add a bit more sparkle.

Even though I was very tempted to add lots of embellishments to the card, I resisted because I wanted to create the effect of Bea sat in the middle of a twinkling sky. Regretably, the photo doesn't do it justice, but in real life, I'm really pleased with the result.
