My First Gift Bag

Good Afternoon

I would like to share with you today my first decorated gift bag:

The bag is from Cupcakecrafting.  For this side of the bag, I printed some backing papers and a topper from Joanna Sheen's Jane Shasky cd-rom.  The backing papers were printed onto pearlescent paper and the topper onto glossy card.  Silver linen card was used for the matting.  Some gorgeous satin purple ribbon was tied on my bowdabra and then added to the bag.

Again papers and toppers from the Jane Shasky cd-rom, this time the image was matted onto a circle die cut into lilac glitter card using a Spellbinders die.  The pansies are from the La Pashe Big One cd-rom, build a blossom.

The current challenge over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge is St Georges Day/Patriotic/British.  Here is my card:

I'm really pleased with how this card has turned out.  I love Faye Whittaker's work and this image is from Joanna Sheen's cd.  I thought it was crying out to be decoupaged, so I took the image into MCS professional and made us the decoupage pieces.  I then matted the image onto the red and dark blue card.

The backing papers are also from the same cd-rom, printed onto Crafters' Companion Satin paper.  My blogging friend Edna recommended this, and I am always delighted with the results I get from it, and believe me, I've tried many papers, so a big thank you Edna MWAH.

I created the bunting using some Diamond dies from Nellie Snellen, and some red and blue bakers twine.

Willow Sketchie Challenge

Good Evening

The current challenge over at Willow Sketchie Challenge gives us a fab sketch to follow, a theme of 3 or more eyelets, or both.  I've chosen both!

I used a lovely digi stamp from the Swings & Slides range from Pollycraft, and coloured using pro-markers.  I die-cut a label using a Nestability.  The backing paper is by We r Memory Keepers and came free in a magazine.  I attached the backing paper with the eyelets, which have been in my stash for ages!

The sentiment is from Lily Of The Valley and the embossed Happy Birthday words were made using an embossing folder and the required pieces cut out.

I die cut a star, to which I attached a little dog charm with bakers twine.  I have got some lovely charms in my stash and am determined to start to use them more.

A Little Ray Of Sunshine

I hope you're having a good day.

One of my favourite flowers is the Sunflower, they are such bright and cheery flowers and when I look at them I have to smile.  Some years ago, I grew lots of different types and colours of sunflowers and filled the borders with them.  They looked stunning and we got so many comments about them.  When they had finished flowering, I kept lots of the seeds and added them to homemade bread.  They taste delicious.  Sadly my gardening days are behind me now, as are my bread making come to that!

Anyway, sorry for the waffle, I'll now show you my card for today:

This is, of course, the gorgeous Teddy Bea, who has been coloured using Spectrum Noir pens.  She is then sat on a brown mat which has been placed onto a Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Rectangle cut from Core'dinations card.  The mini sentiment panel at the bottom is a section from a Darice embossing folder with a gold sentiment added. The brown card has also been embossed using a Darice embossing folder.

The little snowflakes are quilled.  There is a new challenge over at Joanna Sheen's forum and this month it is to try quilling, so I decided to incorporate it into my card.

A Gem Of A Challenge

Good Morning

The current challenge over at A Gem Of A Challenge is a fab sketch to follow.  Here is my card:

I followed the theme at Passion For Promarkers which is Pink, pearls and lace.  I chose various papers from my stash, and went around the edges with Big and Juicy Soothing Sunset ink, and embossed a strip of plum-coloured card with swiss dots embossing folder.  I die-cut a sentiment tab in the same card, and the swirls in the top corner, which is a memory box die.

My image is sat on a gold mat, cut with a Spellbinders Label die.  I added some lace from Joanna Sheen across the card.  I love the striped organza ribbon that I used to make the bow, and only have a short length of it left!  I added a princess charm attached to bakers twine.

I coloured this very cute image using promarkers and added co-ordinating pearls to each of the corners.

Good Morning

A very warm welcome to my new followers, it's a pleasure to have your company.

I'm not doing as well with my Christmas cards as I planned!  In January I decided to make 1 a week to avoid the last minute panic.  I've failed miserably!  So my card for today is a Christmas card using the House Mouse decoupage from Joanna Sheen.

Isn't that image adorable?  After layering up the decoupage, I printed a sheet of backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit Christmas cd-rom.  The red bauble is a Marianne Die which I put silver mirror card behind.  The sentiment base is cut from green mirror card with a Nellie Snellen die, and the sentiment is from Lily of the Valley, stamped in Fired Brick distress ink.  I used some metallic cord (which had originally held a tag onto some clothing and was too nice to throw away!) onto which I threaded some metallic baubles that have been in my stash for ages!

My Fair Lady

Good Morning

When I logged on this morning I had been automatically updated to the new style blogger, so I'm just trying to find my way around it!

It was my Sister-in-laws 50th birthday this week, so I wanted to make her quite a special card,  I turned to my Debbi Moore Pais cd's for this card.

I made a 'K' card and covered the card with backing paper from the cd.  I embossed some 'old gold' paper using a Darice embossing folder as the mat for her to sit on.  I decoupaged the image.  The sentiment is also from the cd rom.

Here is another view of the card:

I created my floral embellishment using white feathers, hat pins and roses and created the bow from two different ribbons.  Black pearls were added to the card.

Three Times The Cuteness!

Good Afternoon

This card is my second entry into the challenge over at The CD Sunday Challenge - Ring A Roses:

I used my rather neglected Precious Petals cd by Joanna Sheen for this card.  The images are all from the one topper sheet which I printed onto Glossy Photo Paper, the middle picture I decoupaged.  I matted all the images onto silver mirror card.

The gorgeous backing paper is from the same cd-rom, printed onto pearlised paper to give a softer look.  Two of the opposite corners were die-cut using a Marianne's die and little pearls added.  I cut a Memory Box corner die from silver mirror card for one of the other corners.  Some lilac and cream roses were added to complete the card.

The Bonnie Banks O' Loch Lomond

Good Morning

My card for today is one I have made for my brother-in-laws birthday.  He lives up in the Highlands and loves to go cycling, so hopeful he will like my card:

My card is made using photo inspiration from CRAFT Challenge and follows the sketch over at Sketch and Stash.

I stamped a number of different stamps from the Hobby Art Scene-it sets, In The Country and British Countryside.  The In The Country set have been rather neglected!  I stamped onto watercolour card using Versafine inks.  I coloured the image using Lyra Aquacrayons. The image is then matted onto pearlescent and Core'dinations card.

I embossed some co-ordinating card using embossing folders and then sanded the card slightly.  I also distressed all the card edges.  The flourishes are cut with spellbinders die, as is the sentiment tag.  I added the bicycle charm with bakers twine as he loves to go cycling.

Roses For Someone Special

Good Morning

Welcome to my blog on this very wet morning.

My card for today is made using the Jane Shasky Heart of the Garden cd-rom from Joanna Sheen:

I chose my image from the decoupage section, and printed it onto glossy paper.  The backing paper is also from the cd-rom, printed onto Centura Pearl paper for a softer look.  I used silver mirror card for all my matting.

The two die-cuts are both Memory Box, cut into green pearlescent card.  I added some ribbon from my stash to complete the card.

My card for today follows the current sketch at Willow Sketchie Challenge.

I've used one of the gorgeous Pollycraft digis from their Swings and Slides range, and coloured him using Spectrum Noirs and Promarkers.  The backing papers are both from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker cd-roms.  The red strip across the middle has been punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.  The three circles are cut with a spellbinders die and I made the three fish from orange fabric and attached them to the circles.

Ready Teddy Go

Hello again

I've spent the afternoon in the company of my favourite teddy, Teddy Bea!

I happened across a new challenge called Ready Teddy Go and for their current challenge there is a fabulous sketch to follow.

Teddy Bea is coloured with coloursoft pencils.The sky was added with Distress Ink on a cotton wool ball.  The die cut shape is a Crafts Too die.  These are excellent value for money.  I go mine from Cupcakecrafting.  I created a faux die from Core'dinations for the image to sit on.

The backing paper  has been in my stash for ages and was from Making Cards magazine.  The pansies are from La Pashe 'The Big One' cd-rom, the Build a Blossom section.  I printed the sheets onto A6 size paper to get the size of pansies I wanted.

I hope the sun is shining for you today.

My card for today is made using the new stamps from Hobby Art called British Countryside:

This is a lovely set of stamps.  You get so many on the sheet and I've used just 4 for my card.

I stamped the images onto Watercolour Card using Versafine ink.  I think these images lend themselves so well to watercolouring.  I used a Darice embossing folder from Crafters Companion and Core'dinations card. I sanded it very slightly.  I trimmed down the image to fit in the embossed frame and then matted this onto black card.  I made a card blank from pearlescent card from PaperMill and matted the image onto this.

It took me all my time not to add any embellishments to this card, but decided to leave it 'as is' so as not to detract too much from the image, also, I made this as a 'male' card so that decided it too!

When I saw the topic I also wanted to make a card with the lovely Paintbox Poppets cd-rom from Crafters Companion.

My chosen image is from the decoupage section printed onto glossy photo paper.  The backing papers are both from the cd-rom, as are the flowers.  The lovely ribbon is from Joanna Sheen.  The oval she is sat on is a Spellbinders die cut into Core'dinations card.

The CD Sunday Challenge - Toybox Treasures

Good Evening

The current challenge at The CD Sunday Challenge has a theme of 'Toybox Treasures'.  I immediately thought of Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker cd-rom's and here is my card:

The image for my card is taken from the Teddies decoupage section and looks great when completed due to the very generous number of layers.  The backing paper is from the same cd-rom.  I inked around the edges of the backing paper with Fired Brick distress ink to blend it into the rest of the card.  I punched around a red square of card with a Martha Stewart punch around the page set, and attached the decoupaged image.

I tied a bow using my bowdabra and some lovely gingham ribbon.  I attached a teddy charm (from Pink Gem designs) to the centre of the bow using bakers twine.

Splish Splash Splosh Little April Showers

Hello

My card for today uses the Adorable stamps and cd-rom by Jayne Nestorenko.

I stamped the little girl in London Fog Memento ink and coloured her using my Spectrum Noirs.  The background scene is printed from the cd-rom and matted onto gold mirror card which I embossed.  I added an acetate wrap to the card and attached the little girl to the acetate.

A Guiding Light

Hello

My card for today is for the current challenge over at Joanna Sheen Challenge - It's A Man's World.  Here is my card:

This is made using the Thomas Kinkade cd-rom from Joanna Sheen, and is a fabulous triple cd set.  So useful for men's cards.

I find there's something very magical about lighthouses and I love this image with the waves crashing against the rocks.  I printed the image onto glossy photo paper, and the backing papers onto a textured paper.  All the matting and embellishments use a gorgeous pearlescent card I got from PaperMill.

I used various Spellbinders Fleur de Lis dies, I think these work so well with seasidey images.  The largest die reminds me of a ships wheel, and I decided to add some spirelli to this shape using a variegated thread.  Bakers twine was added to another die and finally some little sea shells to complete the card.

Fairy Among The Flowers

This is my second post for today, whatever next? ;)

I've combined a few different challenges to come up with my card, and here it is:

I followed the sketch over at Totally Gorjuss for my layout.  I used the bingo challenge at TotallyPaperCrafts and I selected Blue, Die-cut and Flowers.  I used an image from Pollycraft and coloured her with spectrum noirs.  I made the flowers out of fabric to tie in with the current challenge at Pollycraft Challenge.

The backing paper for the card is from my stash.  The mat she is sat on is a Spellbinders die cut from Core'dinations card.  The decorative strip across the card is also Core'dination, embossed using a Darice Embossing folder available from Crafters Companion.  The flourish behind the flowers is also a Spellbinders die, cut from white card.

Willow Sketchie Challenge

I used a decoupage image from the Tulip and Friends cd to provide my layers.  The backing papers are both from the cd, matted onto white cardstock.  I added the number on a Spellbinders label.

Teddy Bo and Bea and a Giraffe

I hope you've enjoyed the Easter Weekend.

The current challenge over at Teddy Bo Challenge is Spring has Sprung.  Here is my card:

As soon as I saw this image at Teddy Bo and Co I knew that resistance was futile, I LOVE giraffes!

The image is coloured with Spectrum Noirs, Promarkers and Coloursoft pencils.  This was matted onto some gold linen then yellow card.  I embossed some Core'dinations card using a Darice woodgrain embossing folder and then sanded it slightly.  This was then matted onto black cardstock.  I punched a strip of Core'dinations with my Martha Stewart rabbit punch, then created the flowers using various floral punches and 'typical' spring colours.

I took an 8 x 8 card onto which I matted the adorable backing paper which was from a Making Cards magazine.  I used an EK success punch on some cream and pale blue paper and used the outline from the cream and butterflies from the blue, to produce the decoration for the top corner.

I couldn't leave out Teddy Bo and Bea so they are 'hiding' on the inside of my card:

I took a second 8 x 8 card to create the middle and lined it with Embossed Core'dinations card for the tree trunk and owl backing paper for the sides.  The pansies are Build A Blossom from La Pashe.

Christmas Spirelli

Good Morning

My card for today is a Christmas card.  I so enjoyed having a go at the Spirelli challenge the other day, I decided to have another go!

This card is made using papers from Making Cards magazine.  I used silver mirror card for all the matting, and punched along the bottom edge of the main image with a Martha Stewart punch.

The circles were cut using a Nellie Snellen die, and after adding the images to the centre of each, I used silver metallic thread for the Spirelli.  I was trying to mirror the design in the backing paper.
