Butterflies Galore!

Good Morning

A very warm welcome to my blog.

My card today is for entry into the current Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge which has a theme of beautiful borders.  Here is my card:

I think you'd be hard pushed to get a more beautiful border than this Butterflies Flying Among The Vines Mesh Border (B401) from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I can't resist butterflies and have used just a few of my collection to make this card.

I used Centura Pearl Card to make an 8 x 8 card blank, which I then embossed with the Spellbinders A4 Garden Lattice embossing folder.  I cut the Polynesian Sails Oval from Centura Pearl White with a hint of gold, and cut the Polynesian Sails Angel Wings from Centura Pearl Teal.  I used a Tonic die to cut the butterfly and flower in the centre of the doily and cut a small butterfly for the top corner, to which I added a small white pearl.  The flower in the other corner was cut using a die that came free in a magazine, and once again I added a white pearl to the centre.

Happy Birthday Lynne

Today is Lynne's birthday from Handmade With Love ....By Lynne and our team leader at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  Happy Birthday Lynne, I hope you have a great day, whatever you may have planned.

This is the card I made for Lynne (which hopefully has arrived by now so I'm not spoiling the surprise!!):

I followed the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  The image and backing papers are printed from the beautiful Flowers In Bloom cd-rom from Card Creations Plus.  The circle the image is sat on was cut using a Spellbinders die.  The leaves and flowers are Cheery Lynn dies and the sentiment is Tattered Lace dies.  The pearls are from my stash.

Here is my card:

I digi stamp I used is called Natsumi and can be found here.

I coloured the image using Spectrum Noir pens.

The mat the image is sat on is cut using Spellbinders Decorative Label 8

The doily is cut using Cheery Lynn's Nautical die.

The strip across the card was punched using Martha Stewart Deco Fan punch.

Cheery Lynn's Minin Fanciful flourish was used to with co-ordinating cardstock.

Marianne Die was used to create the imitation bamboo.

The backing paper was part of a cutlery box that I thought went perfectly with the image.

Christmas Robin

I bought a large Christmas Card kit by Hunkydory from Create and Craft last year and decided it was about time I put it to good use.  So here is a Christmas card made using some elements from the kit:

I added some Diamond white flowersoft and some holly corners die-cut using a Cheery Lynn die with red seed beads added to the centres.

The base card was made using a sheet of decorative card, folder to create a different style card.

Good Morning

My dad is staying with me for a couple of weeks and I'm really enjoying his company.

Daffodils Just For You

I'm so cross with myself. I followed a sketch for my card today, combined with the themes of some other challenges, I've been messing about trying to decide how to finish my card and when I have gone to the sketch blog to post my card have found out that I am too late. AArgh!

Anyhow, enough complaining, here is my card:

I printed the decoupage image and backing paper from my Forever Friends cd-roms from Do-crafts.

I die cut some mint green card using my Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails Oval die and cut a mat from white card for the image to sit on.

I cut Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourishes from the same card, and punched two strips using a Martha Stewart deep edge punch, I then used decorative scissors along the other edge.

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley sat on a mat cut with a Spellbinders floral motif.

I triple tied the bow using ribbon from create and craft.

Finally I added pearls from my stash to the decorative frame.

Polly Pickleberry

I treated myself to the Polly Pickleberry cd-rom from Willow Designs and this is my first card made using the cd.  I followed the current sketch over at Willow Sketchie Challenge and the theme of Happy Birthday:

Brown card embossed using Creative Expressions Lattice Embossing folder.

Martha Stewart punch used to create border strip, then thin red ribbon added from my stash.

Sentiment is Lili of the Valley, stamped in gold ink and sat on a mat created using Cheery Lynn Nautical Wheeler Doily die.

Various Marianne dies used to create foliage.  Memory box dies used to create flowers, finished off with a gem in the centres.  Feathers from my stash also added.

Birthday Flowers

Good Evening

I hope you are well and all set for the festivities.  I'm sorry I've not been blogging very much, I seem to be having another bad reaction to my medication and am sleeping a lot of the time.  I've not been doing a great deal in the way of cardmaking, I find it quite difficult to do when I'm asleep!!!   This is a card I was asked to make for a Christmas birthday:

A5 card blank created from ivory pearlescent card.

I embossed the same card using a Darice embossing folder and inked around the edges using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

The decorative oval is Spellbinders Floral Oval dies, inked through the die with the same ink.

The flowers are cut from plain vellum using Crafters Companion Dahlia quilling die (I cut 2 for each flower), inked around the edges once again. I used a punch to create the flower centres and added a gem to each.

Cheery Lynn mini fanciful flourish used for the leaves.

Glittered vellum was used for the butterfly, cut with a Marianne die.

I added some white flowers and a hat pin.

The sentiment mat was created using a Spellbinders die.
