Hello Again

Each year, after Christmas, I make lots of calendars to give out.  Some are sent as thank you's for presents, and others just as Happy New Year wishes to friends and family.  My mojo hasn't been very co-operative recently, so for this calendar I followed the sketch over at The Sweet Stop.

This is an A5 easel-style calendar and this is the front view.  

Image and backing papers are printed from Morehead cd-rom from Crafter's Companion, the image printed onto watercolour card and the papers satin finish paper.

The green card used for all the matting and layering is from PaperMill.

The shape the image is sat on is cut using a Spellbinders Marvellous Squares die.

I added the year, using Velour stickers, and cut the fish-tail shape by hand.

I cut a second fish-tail to which I added pearls from Joanna Sheen.

This image shows the completed calendar.

The same card and backing papers were used for the base, and I cut another shape using one of the Marvellous Squares dies which I then cut down to a better size to fit the calendar tab.

My card for today is for the current challenge over at The CD Sunday Challenge blog which is All About Birthdays, here is my card:

A4 white card blank

Backing paper printed from Crafters Companion Boys cd-rom onto Satin printer paper

Trainer created from dark blue card from PaperMill with bright yellow card used to create the detail.  Eyelets were added and yellow cord for the lace.

The football was printed onto white card.

The same blue and yellow cards were used to create the letters, which were die cut using an X-Cut die.

Birthday Flowers

Good Evening

I hope you are well and all set for the festivities.  I'm sorry I've not been blogging very much, I seem to be having another bad reaction to my medication and am sleeping a lot of the time.  I've not been doing a great deal in the way of cardmaking, I find it quite difficult to do when I'm asleep!!!   This is a card I was asked to make for a Christmas birthday:

A5 card blank created from ivory pearlescent card.

I embossed the same card using a Darice embossing folder and inked around the edges using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

The decorative oval is Spellbinders Floral Oval dies, inked through the die with the same ink.

The flowers are cut from plain vellum using Crafters Companion Dahlia quilling die (I cut 2 for each flower), inked around the edges once again. I used a punch to create the flower centres and added a gem to each.

Cheery Lynn mini fanciful flourish used for the leaves.

Glittered vellum was used for the butterfly, cut with a Marianne die.

I added some white flowers and a hat pin.

The sentiment mat was created using a Spellbinders die.

Frosty Days

The current challenge at CD Sunday Challenge is Frosty Days, which is just how it's been here today.  Rarely, I've left the house today, firstly to have blood tests and then a visit to the dentist, by golly it was cold.  Here is my card:

Card made using decoupage from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade cd-rom.

I printed the snowflake backing paper onto cardstock and then created the frame for around the image.

Glitter along with Sparkling Snowdrift from Hunkydory were added for the extra shine.

Christmas Friends

My card for today uses decoupage from Hunkydory.  It looks much better in real life, I'm really pleased with how this turned out:

I created an easel card using Snow White centura pearl card

Snowflake patterned card is also Hunkydory

I used some snowfall acetate (also from Hunkydory) which I attached in a bow shape over the decoupage.

The letters were cut using X-cut and Memorybox letter dies.

My card for today is made using the 'Flippin' range' from La Pashe.   The style of card was inspired by a fellow Joanna Sheen forum member.

Image and backing paper printed from The Big One cd from La Pashe (this is a front and back image but for some reason I forgot to photograph the back!!!!!)

Circular card blank created from white 300gsm card using a circle cutter.

Wording stamped using Krystaltips stamps from Dimension stamps.  Number is created from shrink plastic, coloured with spectrum noir pens.

The tool brads were from Joanna Sheen.
