To The Moon and Back

Hello and a warm welcome to my blog today.  A big thank you to everyone who has stuck with me through my long absence.  I am trying my best to get back to regular crafting but am still having some issues with my health.  I don't want my hobby to turn into a worry or a bind, so I am going to take it steady.  To ease me back in, I am going to post once a week, if I manage more that's a bonus.

What better way to get back into the swing than to participate in the CD Sunday challenge.  This has always been one of my favourite challenges, and I love that it gets me using my cd-roms more.  So I am going to join in with the challenge each week again.

Daffodils Just For You

I'm so cross with myself. I followed a sketch for my card today, combined with the themes of some other challenges, I've been messing about trying to decide how to finish my card and when I have gone to the sketch blog to post my card have found out that I am too late. AArgh!

Anyhow, enough complaining, here is my card:

I printed the decoupage image and backing paper from my Forever Friends cd-roms from Do-crafts.

I die cut some mint green card using my Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails Oval die and cut a mat from white card for the image to sit on.

I cut Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourishes from the same card, and punched two strips using a Martha Stewart deep edge punch, I then used decorative scissors along the other edge.

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley sat on a mat cut with a Spellbinders floral motif.

I triple tied the bow using ribbon from create and craft.

Finally I added pearls from my stash to the decorative frame.

I've another Christmas card to share with you today, this time made using some of a Forever Friends paper stack that came in a recent Papercraft Essentials magazine.  I followed the super sketch over at Cute Card Thursday to create the following card:

The decoupage and backing papers were all from the Paper stack.

Gold linen card was used for matting and layering and for the die cut shapes,

Marianne Snowflakes dies, Memorybox Christmas Tree die, Nellie Snellen oval die and Spellbinders Persian Motifs dies were used.

I have made a start on my drawer calendars for 2013, these are always very popular.  In the drawer is a post-it pad and a pencil.

Decoupage from Forever Friends cd-rom, printed onto super smooth decoupage paper.

I printed a backing paper onto white card and added a toning card from Papermill.

I used a Martha Stewart border punch.

Eyelets and button on the drawer are from my stash.

Calendar attached to co-ordinating card to complete the design.
