Christmas Teddy Bear

Well I know it's a dog, but it reminds me of a Teddy Bear!  How gorgeous is he?

This is a card made using Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends cd-rom.

Printed onto glossy photo paper and matted onto red cardstock.  I printed off two of the backing papers, which were matted onto the same red cardstock.  I used a memorybox die on some red mirror card to produce the tree.  I used a Lili of the Valley Christmas Sentiment stamp, stamped with red ink.

Olympic Cyclist

Good Evening

When I saw the theme for this weeks challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge - O for Olympics - I didn't think I'd be taking part this week!!!  I'm not in the least bit sporty, but not wanting to miss the challenge googled olympic sports to see if I could get any flashes of inspiration.  Well fortunately, when I saw cycling on the list I remembered an image on one of my cd's that was suitable for the challenge.

This is Jack Jones, a decoupage image from a Do-crafts cd-rom that came with a magazine ages ago.  The backing paper and sentiment are also from the same cd.  I die-cut five circles in the appropriate colours to further tie-in with the theme of Olympics.

Time To Relax

Good Morning

Today is my brother-in-laws birthday.  I couldn't decide what theme to use for his card so had a look through my Nostalgia cd-rom from Joanna Sheen.  This is the card I came up with:

I'm really pleased with how this came out.  I always seem to struggle with stepper cards and had to work out my own dimensions for this one.  I printed a backing paper from the cd-rom onto card stock to produce my base card.  The images are all printed onto glossy photo paper and matted onto gold linen card.  The sentiments are Lili of the Valley using versafine ink.  All the sentiments are matted onto gold linen card too, the circular sentiment mats cut using a Nellie Snellen Lily die which I got for Christmas.

Thinking Of You At Christmas

Good Morning

Well the days are marching on and I'm in a panic about whether I'll be finished in time!

The weather here has been so strange, I've never know so many hailstone showers!  And I've never seen hailstone so big!!!!  Hope you are keeping safe and warm.

My card for today features the lovely Tatty Ted.  I've had so many cards from high street stores with this character on, and my eldest daughter loves Tatty Ted, so I just had to treat myself to the cd-roms.

The image, backing paper and sentiment are all printed from the cd-rom.  Flowersoft was added to the main image.  I've used a combination of spellbinders and Marianne dies.  Mirror card has been used for the baubles.  Little ribbon bows and peel-off chains were added to complete the design.

Oh Holy Night

Good Afternoon

I'm sorry I've not been around much.  My condition has deteriorated again so my GP is increasing my medication to try and get the pain under control a bit better.  It's all making me feel even more 'out of it'.

My card for today shows the true meaning of Christmas:

I used a lovely brown linen card, gold mirri board and papers from Making Cards.  Spellbinders dies are used and a pearl in each corner and finally some peel-offs to complete the card.

Good Afternoon

It's a while since I joined in with the Less Is More Challenge, and as I needed to make a Thank You card, I decided to tie it in with their challenge for this week which is Silhouettes.

I started by embossing the card using a Nestabilities die. I stamped this lovely stamp from Dimension Fourth and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. With the die in situ, I used ink dusters to apply ink from a Big & Juicy Waterfall ink pad. I added silver peel offs to the card to complete (I'm not actually sure about the positioning of the peels offs, but they're firmly stuck now so will have to stay.

Flowers for Grandma

Good Afternoon

Welcome to my blog today.

My card for today was meant to be a quick card and finished up anything but!!!

I had such fun making this card.

The image is from Crafters Companion SWALK Winters Cheer range.  I coloured her with a combination of promarkers and coloursoft pencils.  My very first time using promarkers!  The mat she is sat on is cut with a Nellie Snellen die.  The backing papers are from the accompanying cd-rom, edged with gold embossing powder.  I stamped and coloured two of the flower baskets onto shrink plastic and added them to the bow as extra embellishments.  The poinsettias are Marianne dies, I added a little glitter to the centre of each.

Ballerina Bea

Good Afternoon

We've actually got sunshine today!  Hopefully September will be better than August!

My card for today features my favourite bear, Teddy Bea.

Bea is coloured with Coloursoft pencils and some stickles added to her wand and wings to add some sparkle.

The base card is cut using a Marianne die using a lovely rich brown cardstock from Papermill.  The backing paper is printed from a Crafters Companion cd-rom.  It's either Appley Dapply or SWALK but I'm afraid I can't remember which one!  The little flowers are created using a Nellie Snellen die and little pearls added to the centre.  Three co-ordinating gems are used to complete the card.

Good Morning

My card for today is made using the Enchanted Dreams cd-rom from Joanna Sheen.

The main image was printed onto glossy photo paper and then matted onto gold mirri card.  The background paper is printed from the same cd-rom.  The stacking stars are cut from gold and silver mirri card using a die-namics die.  The base card stock is a beautiful rich blue from Papermill.

Cute and cuddly

Good Afternoon

Thank you very much to everyone who left comments on  Emma's card, she was so excited to read all your lovely comments.

My card for today is one I have made using the fabulous Furry Friends cd-rom from Joanna Sheen.

Isn't this just the cutest puppy?  The image is layered onto silver mirror board, cut across the bottom with an EK success border punch.  Three identical pictures were then punched with a circle punch and again layered onto silver mirror board.

I printed out one of the stripy backing papers from the cd-rom, cut it into narrow strips, curled it and then attached it to 3 sides of the frame.  The paw print backing paper is also printed from the cd-rom.

In The Country

Good Morning

There's nothing like cutting it fine!  This is my entry into this weeks Willow Sketchie Challenge.  This week we were to choose a previous sketch to follow, with the added twist of adding 3 buttons, 2 ribbons and 1 sentiment.

I chose to follow a sketch from April.  The images are printed from Joanna Sheen's Pamela West cd-rom onto watercolour card.  The dies cuts are Spellbinders Fleur De Lis dies, and the buttons and ribbons are from my stash.

Thank You Teddy Bea

Good Evening

I hope you've had a good day.  I've been glued to the tv quite a bit today watching the lovely Jayne Nestorenko launch her new stamp range.  Aren't they beautiful.  I had to place a 'little' order and will be building up the set over time.  Very naughty I know but what's a girl to do?

My card for today features my favourite teddy.  I was brought a lovely bouquet of flowers the other day and wanted to send a thank you card.  I realised that I hadn't yet used this Teddy Bea image so quickly rectified that!!!

Teddy Bea is coloured with pencils.  The teacup is paper pieced and then the image is placed onto a spellbinders label die.  The sentiment (which is very clear in real life!) is a LOTV stamp.  The rolled flowers are made from the same paper as the tea cup which I inked on the reverse side to blend in better.  The leaves are cut from white glitter card using a Marianne Die.  The side panel is punched down the edge using a Martha Stewart punch.  Co-ordinating eyelets were added so that I could thread a narrow white satin ribbon through.  Three Papermania Mosaics were added to complete the design.

This is another version of the card with different colours and an alternative punch.

Here Comes Summer

Good Morning

It seems summer is coming to everywhere but Manchester!! I'm sorry to keep moaning about the weather, but the rain does seem to have a detrimental effect on my condition and is getting me down.

So with thoughts (hopes) of the summer, my card for today uses a gorgeous image from The Pamela West Collection cd-rom by Joanna Sheen.

Isn't this a beautiful image? It brings back lots of happy holiday memories to me.

The frame is die cut using a Marianne die, and the backing paper, which unfortunately doesn't show up too well in the phote, is from the same cd-rom. The base card uses white hammered cardstock from Papermill.

An Enchanting Lady

Good Afternoon

I hope you're having a good day. It's still cold here in Manchester, and I think just recently we've been getting the rain for the whole of the British Isles! Please come back Mr Sun.

This card is my entry into Rainbow Lady's Challenge which this time is Some Enchanted Evening.

This beautiful image is from Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams cd-rom. This lovely lady is surrounded by Pansies in the most beautiful colours. I printed the backing paper onto Centura Pearl paper to add extra shimmer. The sentiment is lilac pearlescent card and is cut using a spellbinders die. The photo doesn't do justice to the colours in this image, but this is the best I can do today I'm afraid.

A Card For You

Good Afternoon.

I hope you are well.

My card for today features the adorable SWALK characters, and this image is taken from the 'After The Rain' stamp set. Last night I was stuck in a queue on one of those really annoying telephone systems, so I painted the image while I was waiting!

This adorable little lady is painted using Lyra's. I stamped her with Versafine onto watercolour card. The backing papers are printed from the first SWALK cdrom. The dark blue mat she is sat on is cut using a Nellie Snellen die, as is the sentiment tab. The flourishes are cut using Marianne dies.

The inside of the card is decorated to match the front.

Ice-Cream For Teddy Bo and Teddy Bea

Good Evening

I hope you've had a lovely weekend. It's not stopped raining here!

My card for today is a gate-fold card. I've not made one of these for ages, and had forgotten how difficult they are to photograph, so I've taken 3 separate photos.

This is the photo of the inside of the card.

The backing paper is one I've had in my stash for ages, and I thought would work really well with the image. The mat Teddy Bo and Bea are sitting on is a Nellie Snellen hexagonal die. I've coloured the Teddies in pencil, aren't they just the cutest? A couple of feathers were added.

On one side of the card front, I embossed some silver mirri with the swiss dots embossing folder. The flowers are made from pearlescent card and are cut with dies that came in the hexagonal set. They are simply layered and then a little pearl (from Joanna Sheen) added to the centre of each flower.

The other card front is made from pearlescent card embossed using a cupcake embossing folder.

Teddy Bea Among The Flowers

Good Morning

I've been out this morning woo hoo!!! We've all been up to the dentist for our 6 month check. I'm in so much pain now, with getting in and out of the car, the wheelchair, the dentist chair! Murphy is sulking big time, he always sulks when I've been out. I keep telling him I've not been out having fun, but will he believe me? Well the look on his face says it all.

With a bit of look he'll have forgiven me by weekend!!!!

Anyway, onto today's card. This is my latest purchase from Teddybo.com, mind you it is Teddy Bo Tuesday and there are some adorable new releases out today, so I could well be adding to my collection :D. I LOVE colouring in these bears (you may have noticed lol).

Here is Teddy Bea wearing a beautiful necklace she has made from flowers. I couldn't resist this backing paper, I thought is went so well with all the flowers, and is also very sweet. The mat she is sat on is die-cut using a Nellie Snellen die. The ribbon border is a Marianne die, as is the butterfly which is made using glitter card. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves are cut using a woodware punch.

Teddy Bea is once again coloured in using pencils. I decided this time that she could wear a red dress and hat, to pick out the colours of the ladybirds in the backing paper. I put her on the mat using glue gel to add further dimension to the card.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - In The Country

Hello again

I have been meaning to enter the Rainbow Lady's Challenge for a few weeks now. As luck would have it, I was putting together a card this morning that fits the challenge perfectly! Here is my entry which is 'In The Country'.

I've been tempted by the Hobby Art Scene It stamps for some time, and gave in (sooooo little will-power) and ordered the new In The County set. I stamped the images onto watercolour card, and coloured using my Lyra's. This was then matted onto various cardstock, including some which had been run through my big shot using the Argyle cuttlebug folder (I used it horizontally just to be different!). The base card is a cream hammered card.

I've got my eye on the hillside and coastal sets too! They are excellent quality stamps.
