Less Is More - One Layer

It seems like ages since I joined in with the Less Is More challenge so decided to challenge myself today.  This week the challenge is to create a one layer card with the theme of foliage.  Here is my card:

I find that one layer cards take a lot more planning and this one was no exception.  I had bought a new embossing folder earlier this week which fit the challenge perfectly.  I embossed some Centura Pearl card with the embossing folder and then scored a further line of embossing to separate it from the rest of the card.
The stamps are both from a set of sentiments, stamped using Big and Juicy Spice Ink pad.  Finally I coloured some areas of embossing using Spectrum Noir pens.

Happy 18th Birthday

Good Morning

I hope you are well.

Today is my eldest daughter's 18th Birthday!  We've had a busy weekend with lots of visitors and hubby has been very busy catering for them all.  She wanted her birthday to have a 'Woodland Theme' so here is the card I made for her:

All the images, backing papers and embellishments are printed from the Jayne Netley Mayhew cd-rom's from Joanna Sheen.

The die in the centre is spellbinders and the sentiment is Lili Of The Valley.

A Note For You

Good Afternoon

Back with my second challenge card for today.

This card follows the current Willow Sketchie Challenge and uses one of their digi stamps.

Winnie owl is coloured using Coloursoft pencils and for a change I decided to paper piece her skirt.  All the papers are from a free pad that came in Quick cards magazine, I think they're really pretty.  The main image and all the papers are matted onto gold mirror board.  The little flowers are cut with a Marianne die and double layered.  A gem is placed in the centre.  The flowers on the digi are embellished with flowersoft, and once again a teeny tiny gem is added to the centres.  This was a really lovely sketch to follow.

Thinking of You

Good Afternoon,

Sadly I needed to make a sympathy card today. It's for one of my husbands friends who has sadly lost his mum this week.

I ran some centura pearl card through my big shot with an embossing folder. The sentiment is silver peel-offs. The flowers and leaves are made using a Marianne die and plain vellum. The butterly is again a Marianne die made on white glitter card.

The centura pearl is matted onto some platinum pearlescent card. The base card is a smooth white cardstock from PaperMill.

Teddy Bea Among The Flowers

Good Morning

I've been out this morning woo hoo!!! We've all been up to the dentist for our 6 month check. I'm in so much pain now, with getting in and out of the car, the wheelchair, the dentist chair! Murphy is sulking big time, he always sulks when I've been out. I keep telling him I've not been out having fun, but will he believe me? Well the look on his face says it all.

With a bit of look he'll have forgiven me by weekend!!!!

Anyway, onto today's card. This is my latest purchase from Teddybo.com, mind you it is Teddy Bo Tuesday and there are some adorable new releases out today, so I could well be adding to my collection :D. I LOVE colouring in these bears (you may have noticed lol).

Here is Teddy Bea wearing a beautiful necklace she has made from flowers. I couldn't resist this backing paper, I thought is went so well with all the flowers, and is also very sweet. The mat she is sat on is die-cut using a Nellie Snellen die. The ribbon border is a Marianne die, as is the butterfly which is made using glitter card. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves are cut using a woodware punch.

Teddy Bea is once again coloured in using pencils. I decided this time that she could wear a red dress and hat, to pick out the colours of the ladybirds in the backing paper. I put her on the mat using glue gel to add further dimension to the card.

All Together Now

Good Morning

My card for today is using another of the Faye Whittaker decoupage sheets from Joanna Sheen.

I used a white hammered card stock for the base, and matted onto this some pale blue backing paper. I added an eyelet to each corner which I threaded some 'chunky' thread through. The little flags were made from coloured card and a cocktail stick. The little shells along the bottom are from my stash.

I would like to enter my card into the Raise The Bar Challenge which is 'We "Shell"'.

Two To Share

Good Morning

I've two cards to share with you today.

The first one is a birthday card for a friends dad, she particularly likes paper embroidery. I hadn't done any for a while and really enjoyed making it.

The pattern was from stitching cards, and it was stitched using metallic threads.

The next card is made using an image from the SWALK range of stamps from Crafters Companion.

I coloured her using Derwent Watercolour pencils and put her onto some white glitter card using 3d glue gel. I cut four corners using a Marianne die, and then inked through the die using Big and Juicy Soothing Sunset. The corners remind me of a tiara, so were just right for this card. The backing paper is printed from the accompanying SWALK cd-rom, printed onto Centura Pearl paper.

The flowers are made using the same backing paper and a Marianne Die, and the centres cut onto white glitter card. A pearl was then added to the centre of each of the flowers. A couple of flourishes were cut, again using a Marianne Die, and added behind the flowers.

The Princess and Heart charms were from ebay, and attached using narrow ribbon. The sentiment is from LOTV, stamped using silver ink and then embossed with clear detail embossing power. A few pearls in the opposite corner completed the card.

I'm sorry about the quality of the photos, very dull here again today, so I had to use a flash and it bounces off the centura paper.
