CD Sunday Plus #63 Hosted by Margaret

Good morning

A very warm welcome to my blog today.  Today is Father's Day in the UK and both my daughter's are staying here so they get to spend the day with their day.

Today see's the start of a new challenge over at CD Sunday Plus Challenge.  Thank you to everyone who entered our last challenge - I've now got quite a challenge in choosing the top 3!

As you may have seen in my previous post, we recently got a new Cocker Spaniel puppy.  I wanted to take a gift to the lady we got him from.  Bailey was one of 11 puppies, so with his mum Rosie, there were the perfect number to make a perpetual calendar.  Today I am sharing with you the front cover and 'July'.

The calendar was made using 12, 8 x 8 card blanks from Lynda Chapman.  I used Lynda's fabriano paper and card for all the printing (except the photos) as you are guaranteed excellent results.  I used glossy photo paper for the photos.

For the cover I printed the paw print paper from Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends cd-rom and used my (new) Crafters' Companion die to cut the word Thankful.  I the matted this onto Hunkydory's rainbow mirri card.  I chose a couple of sentiments from 'A Little Dog Laughed' card making kit to finish off the front.

Next is Miss July!!!  The puppies all wore a different coloured collar to identify them, so I used the colour of the puppies collar as the colour of the mats on the page they were featured on.  Lynda Chapman's famous black card and kraft card are featured throughout the calendar!

The backing paper behind Ivy's photo is from Krafty Hands Cute Puppies & Kittens cd-rom.  The lettering is all from Creative Crafting World Bree Merryn cd-rom as are all the Calendar Tabs.  The paper on the opposite page are from a Creative Crafting World paper kit, now available on a Paper Pantry USB.  I love this paper kit.  The die of the dog and boots is a Tattered Lace die.

It took many hours to make the calendar but I was really pleased with it when it was done.  I got a message of thanks from Rosie's owner to say she loved it and it made her cry!!

CD Sunday Plus Challenge #38 - Hosted By Carol

Welcome to my blog today.

Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me to my new role as Design Team member.  I've enjoyed visiting your blogs and seeing all your beautiful creations.

Today sees the start of our next challenge and this time Carol is our hostess. Our theme is Anything Goes - as well as following the theme of the challenge, a CD, USB or Digital images, or any combination thereof, must have been used somewhere in the making of the card or project. It doesn’t have to be the whole card but it can be. It can be as small as perhaps a sentiment or a piece of backing paper- but there has to be some CD, USB or Digital source content somewhere together with everything else you have used. THE SOURCE MUST BE NAMED AND CREDITED.

Here is my card:

I used Beatrix Potters' Jemima Puddle-Duck cd-rom from Crafters' Companion to make my card.  The decoupage, backing papers and insert are all printed from the cd-rom.  I used an 8 x 8vcream card blank from Joanna Sheen, yellow card from PaperMill and gems from my stash.  The lettering was cut using dies also from Crafters' Companion.

Happy Birthday Grandad

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  Today see's the start of a new challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge and the theme for this challenge is 'A Gardener's World'.  Here is my card:

I used a decoupaged image and sentiment from Katy Sue designs.  The bunting is a die from Crafters' Companion as is the trellis.  I needed a green for my lettering and leaves that would tie in with the main image, so printed this from Creative Crafting Worlds Perfect Papercrafting Companions cd.  The lilac for the flowers on the trellis was also printed from the same cd.  This is such a useful cd to have, I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is the inside of the card.  I coloured the letters using promarkers.

Beautiful Blooms

Hello

There are 2 challenges I always try and join in with.  The first is The CD Sunday Challenge and the other is Creative Crafting Worlds challenge.  Unfortunately, I've missed the last few CD Sunday Challenges as I've just not felt up to crafting.  This week, however, my husband asked me to make a special card for a colleague so I tied the theme in with the current challenge at CD Sunday which is 'Beautiful Blooms'.

Here is my card:

I used Centura Pearl card from Crafters Companion, The die is also from Crafters Companion.  I made the flower pot and butterfly from paper clay.  Flowers from my stash and decorative pins, pearls and feathers. The leaves were cut using a Cheery Lynn die.  The paper behind the vase came from a free cd-rom.

The insert was printed from a Pollyanna Pickering cd-rom:

I'm pleased to say she was delighted with her card.

Butterfly Wishes

Hello again

Two posts in one day, whatever is the world coming to!

This is my second entry into the current Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge and my third and final entry into the Creative Crafting World Blog Challenge:

I followed the sketch once again, this time replacing one of the circles with a butterfly to tie-in with the papers I used.

I used Lynda Chapman's white card from Creative Crafting World to create my card blank, and used papers and a topper from the Paper Boutique Butterfly Garden also from Creative Crafting World.  The dies I used were from Spellbinders, Tonic and Crafters' Companion, and the white pearls are also from Crafters' Companion and the pink are Anita's.

Happy Birthday Megan

I would like to share a card with you I've made for my niece's birthday.  She loves to go horse riding so this decoupage from Jolly Nation fits the bill perfectly!

I decided to try a different shape of card and am quite pleased with how it's turned out.

I created the base card using the smooth white card from Creative Crafting World.  I love this card and it is a real go-to for me now.  I used red card from PaperMill for all my matting and layering.  I printed the decoupage image and matching backing paper onto super smooth paper.  These are from the Jolly Nation cd-rom.

The die cut mat the main image is sat on was created using a Crafters' Companion die.  The happy birthday die was a freebie from a magazine.  The name was stamped using stamps from Marianne Designs.

I would like to enter my card into the current challenge at CD Sunday which has a theme of 'Take a Stamp'.

CD Sunday Challenge - For The Love Of Dogs

There is a new challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge Blog and this time it's a theme very close to my heart - 'For The Love Of Dogs'.  Here is my card:

The decoupage image for this card, along with the backing paper, were printed from a Morehead cd-rom from Crafter's Companion.  The pink card is from PaperMill and the decorative mat was die cut using a Crafter's Companion die.

The design team at CD Sunday have provided us with some fabulous inspiration for this challenge.

CD Sunday Challenge - 2nd Entry

I've really enjoyed the theme of the current challenge at CD Sunday which is 'Anything Asian'.  This is my second card for this challenge:

This time I used Joanna Sheen's Eastern Treasures cd.  I love this image of the mandarin ducks.

I printed the image onto glossy photo paper and the co-ordinating backing paper onto super smooth paper.  I used a pearlescent gemstone cardstock from Create and Craft which I embossed using a folder from Crafters' Companion.  The die the image is sat on is also Crafters' Companion.

I added 2 different ribbons, picking out colours from the image, and created a water lily using a Marianne Die.  I added some glitter to this, but you can't really see it in the photo.  I cut the sentiment from matt silver cardstock using a Crafters' Companion die.  Finally I added some gems from Joanna Sheen.

CD Sunday Challenge - Punch It Out

The current challenge at CD Sunday is Punch It Out - Use punches and/or dies.  This is my entry:

I used Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends cd-rom to print the image and the backing paper.  The beautiful pattern behind the main image is cut on my silhouette portrait using a silhouette cutting file, and is cut into Lynda's black card (from Creative Crafting World).  The die cut shape behind the images is cut using a spellbinders die.  The bow is a die from Crafters Companions Downton Abbey collection and the sentiment is a Die'sire edgeables die, cut into black and pink card stock to give a shadow effect.  The ribbon is a harlequin ribbon from Create & Craft and the card candy were part of a prize I won ages ago.

CD Sunday Challenge - Paws

This is my entry into the current challenge over at CD Sunday which is currently 'Paws':

Image from Digi Crafts Furry Friends Squeezee Cards cd-rom.  Pre-printed cardstock used for base card (I've had it so long, I can't remember where I got it from!)  Image matted onto card from PaperMill.  Kennel brad and little dog decoration from my stash.  Sentiment cut from co-ordinating card using a Crafters' Companion die.

I was delighted to see my card for the Things With Wheels challenge has been placed second.  Thank you ladies.

No Images or Photos

No Images or Photos is the current theme over at CD Sunday Challenge.  This one really got me thinking!  I needed to make a card for a close friends birthday, so made it to fit in with the theme (sorry about my reflection in the card!):

I created my card blank from Centura Pearl Card.  The beautiful die cut frame is from Crafters Companion cut into purple pearlescent card.  The backing paper behind the frame is from the Flowers In Bloom 2 cd from Card Creations.  The pink card is from Papermill and the silver mirri is from Create and Craft.

I created the flowers using a Britannia die, cut from Joanna Sheen's Elegance Satin card, coloured with promarkers.  The centres for the flowers were also from Joanna Sheen.  The leaves were cut using a Marianne die, again coloured with promarkers.  This was my first time making these flowers and I'm really pleased with how they turned out.

Lady In Red

Hello

The challenge this week at the CD Sunday Challenge is 'Songs from the Movies'.  This one really got me thinking!  I followed the current sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and chose the song 'Lady In Red' from the film Working Girl to come up with the following card:

I used the Strictly Card Dancers cd-rom from Card Creations plus. and printed my chosen image 4 times so I could turn it into decoupage.  The two backing papers I used are from the same cd-rom,  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the black mat and used the same die to create a frame out of glitter card.  I cut the trellis using a Crafters Companion die from Sara's Floral Delight collection and cut this to fit the frame. The black border and corner used Spellbinders Floral Doily accents and motifs dies, as did the flowers that were cut from matching backing paper and then finished with a black pearl in the centre.

I'm ashamed to say this is the first time I have used this cd-rom to create a card!

I would also like to enter my card in Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

All Creatures Great and Small

This is my entry into the current challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge:

My dad is going to be 90 at the end of the month and this is the card I have made for him.

I used the latest Pollyanna Pickering dvd-rom from Creative Crafting World, A Walk in the Wild.  I printed the toppers onto glossy photo paper and printed a backing paper from the dvd.  I matted all the toppers onto black card.

The Happy Birthday and Special Day senitments are both Crafters Companion dies which I die cut from black card.  The letters and numbers are Cheery Lynn dies,  The star dies are X-cut.  The greenery was also cut using dies from Crafters Companion.

I layered the images onto the card using various thicknesses of 3d foam.
