Tranquil Days

My card for today is made using the stunning Tranquil Days collection from The Paper Boutique range from Creative Crafting World, and also uses one of Lynda Chapman's fabulous new dies.  They cut so beautifully, release without any effort, and I really can't recommend them highly enough.  In fact, I can honestly say that about all the products I've bought from Creative Crafting World (and there are many!!).

This is the front of my card:

I used and 8 x 8 card blank and Lynda Chapman's Kraft card for the mat on my card.  The corners were punched using a Martha Stewart punch, and an edge punch from the same set was used for the decorative strip.  I kept the little punched out flowers and added them to the corners.

The beautiful doily was also cut using Kraft Card, navy card from PaperMill was used for the decorative strip and circle mat together with the sentiment which was die cut.  A number of lavender gems from Joanna Sheen were added to complete the front of the card.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge

This is my entry into the latest challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches:

I used Lynda Chapman's Kraft Card to create my base card.  The backing paper is from The Paper Boutique Butterfly Collection, also from Creative Crafting World.

I die cut the butterfly from Co'oredinations card using a free die from Die-cutting essentials magazine.  I added vellum to the rear of the butterfly and the added ultra fine glitter.  The corner decoration was cut from the same card using a Spellbinders die.

The scalloped edge was created using a Martha Stewart punch.  I highlighted the edges of the cardstock and die-cuts using Peacocks Feathers distress ink.

The gems I added are from Joanna Sheen and the sentiment is a peel off.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Summertime Fun

I'm sorry I'm so late in posting my card for this months challenge over at Crafty Calendar.  This month our theme is Summertime Fun and we have been sponsored by Squiggle Fly and they gave the design team some images to craft with.  I chose this great image of a Campervan and here is my card:

I printed the image onto Neenah card and coloured using Spectrum Noir pencils.  This is the first time I've used them and they are lovely to work with.  I blended using baby oil and am quite pleased with the result.

The lovely papers I've used (which decided the colours I would used for colouring in the image) are Nitwits Collection and came free recently with a magazine.

I used bold cardstock from Create and Craft.  A Martha Stewart punch was used to create the scalloped border.  The ribbon was also from Create and Craft and tied on my Bowdabra.

Crafty Calendar Challenge February

The theme for this month is 'Love and Marriage'.  This month we are sponsored by the fabulous Whimsy Stamps and the lucky winner will receive 5 digi stamps of their choice.  Here is my card:

I was asked to make a card to celebrate a couples golden wedding anniversary.  I made an 8 x 8 easel card and matted it with some paper from Joanna Sheen's elegant fans cd-rom. I decoupaged the photograph.  The heart border was made using a Martha Stewart deep edge punch.  For the stopper I used a card embroidery pattern and added some pearls.  The sentiment was stamped using Dimension alphabet stamps.  I created the floral embellishment using mulberry roses from my stash.

I was asked to make a 40th birthday card for a lady who is a piano teacher and a member of a choir.  Here is what I came up with:

Music score backing paper and choir boys from Joanna Sheens ATC Assistant cd-roms.  The choir boys are decoupaged.

Central image from Joanna Sheens Dances With Shadows cd-rom, sat on a decorative oval cut using a Marianne die.

I tied a double ribbon on my bowdabra using ribbons from my stash.

I wanted to make this card a bit more special, so created a pop-up piano for inside the card:

Pearls and Swirls

Good Afternoon

My card for today is a First Communion card I was asked to make:

This was created using a Glitter Girls embossing board and Centura Pearl cardstock.  Silver peel-offs were added around the design.  Tiny white pearls were added, some white feathers and I made a small floral arrangement for the centre.

I used some patterned vellum inside the card, with a printed insert, punched around the edges with a Martha Stewart punch.

Just Practising

Good Afternoon

I hope you're having a lovely weekend.

My card for today uses a fab digi stamp from Pollycraft and here it is:

This is the first of their stamps that I've purchased, but will be adding to my collection very soon.

The image is coloured using Coloursoft pencils.  The various backing papers are from my stash, punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.  The stars are all cut from felt using a die-namics die, and the greeting is a peel-off.

Humphrey

Good Afternoon

My card for today is made using the Humphrey's Corner cd-rom from Crafters Companion.

This is one of the lovely decoupage images from the cd-rom, layered onto silver mirror board which has been punched all around using a Martha Stewart punch.


The backing paper is from the cd-rom and the stars are cut into a co-ordinating paper using a die-namics star die.

The inside of the card has been decorated to match.

This is a lovely cd-rom which I know I'm going to get lots of use out of.

The Snowman

Good Afternoon

Back with my second card for today which is made using the new cd-rom and stamp set from Crafters Companion.

I used hammered white cardstock for the base.  The backing papers are all from the cd-rom printed onto centura pearl paper.  A Martha Stewart PATP was used.  The snowman is stamped in versafine ink and some shading added with coloursoft pencils.  Hunkydory 'Snowdrift' was added around his feet.  His hat and scarf were paper pieced using matching lilac backing paper.

I used one of the papers as an insert for the card.

For the card layout, I followed the current sketch at Willow Sketchie Challenge, a challenge which I was lucky enough to win last week.

Viva La Divas

Good Morning

My cards for today are made using the Viva La Divas cd-rom from Joanna Sheen. It's such a lot of fun this cd, and you can change all the captions to personalise them if you want to.

This uses one of the toppers from the cd, and I've changed to wording slightly. I've used a Martha Stewart Punch around the page for the mat and then added some prima flowers. The leaves are made using an x-cut embossing punch with a bit of colour added for the veins.

The second card is decoupaged and I have used the sentiment on the cd.

Just some simple matting and layering for this card and then I added the ribbon border.

The sun is back this morning, and I hope it stays for a while. My pain is definately affected by the wet weather.

Birthday Girl In Aqua, Pink and Lemon

Good Afternoon

I hope you're having a good day.

My card for today is a birthday card made using a digi stamp from Pink Gem Designs.

I love this image and really enjoyed colouring it in using my coloured pencils.

The backing paper is from my stash. The pink paper was punched around the edges using a Martha Stewart PATP. The yellow butterfly border was made using an EK Success punch. The mat she is sat on was die-cut using a Nellie Snellen die, as were the flowers and sentiment. Little pearls from Joanna Sheen were added to the centres of the flowers, and the little butterflies are the one's cut out from the punched strip. The sentiment stamp is from the Patchwork Polly range of stamps.

The inside of the card matches the front.
