My card for today uses papers from Making Cards magazine:

A5 card blank

Martha Stewart punch used to create the border along with some gingham ribbon.

I embossed some cardstock using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

A Nellie Snellen die (Flower Circles) was used to create the mat the poppy is sat on.  I folded some light card to create the Rosette effect (at least that was the idea!) and I used a template to create the poppy petals, finish off in the centre with a Nellie Snellen punch.

Colours of Autumn

I love the colours of autumn, so rich and beautiful.  My card today is inspired by these colours:

I used clarity card and embossed Spellbinders labels 28.

I masked the shape and brayered over the card using Big and Juicy Spice ink pad.

I stamped the Pilkington Lane stamp inside the shape using Memento ink and coloured the image using my Spectrum Noirs.

I matted the card onto gold linen card.

I used matching orange card and again matted this onto gold linen card.

I created the card blank using some gorgeous pearlescent green card I bought from PaperMill (I love this card and sadly it is now nearly all gone!)

I cut the decorative corners using a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis die.

The sentiment is computer generated, cut using Spellbinders Labels 28 die.

I purchased a splodgeaway mat a few weeks ago as I found brayering difficult and also I hated the amount of ink it wasted.  I am delighted with my purchase.  I find I get better results, both with brayering and using my blending tool around the edges, it is very easy to clean, and you don't have to waste any ink.  I got the 12 x 12 size and this was definitely one of my 'better' purchases.  An excellent invention!

Buttons and Pins

This is the first card I have made using the Shabby Chic Haberdashery cd-rom form Debbi Moore.  I had such fun making this card:

I distressed all around the edges of the backing paper with my distressing tool and then matted it onto gold linen card.

I cut out the dress bodice and then cut a circle from a co-ordinating paper and folded it to make the skirt.  Again I distressed the edges of the skirt.

I stamped the sewing machine from Joanna Sheen's haberdashery stamp set, and the buttons and thimble image from Debbi Moores stamp set, onto shrink plastic and attached the twine before shrinking them.  I then threaded the twine through a button, which was attached to a picot edged circle, along with a couple of pins.

A few buttons were added to the card for extra dimension.

I used Serif Craft Artist to create the cover for my card (which took an age!), printed it onto card twice, and then cut the apertures and added the acetate.

Sorry I've not been around much this week, I've had a really bad week health-wise.

Here is my card for the CD Sunday Challenge which has the theme of Swirls and Pearls:

Sheena Douglass Pain Fusion cd-rom, main image printed onto watercolour card.

I printed off a different backing paper onto each side of some textured paper and cut it to make the frame.

Black sparkly pearls were added along with Memory box Macarena corners.

Summer Fun

Today I am sharing a card made with Joanna Sheen's Nostalgia cd-rom:

A5 card blank.

Decoupage image and backing paper both taken from the cd-rom and matted onto gold matt and black card.

Core'dinations paper embossed with a Darice embossing folder and Faded Jeans distress ink added to the clouds.
