Another Fathers Day Card

Hello again,

I'm playing catch up now and entering the challenges I had made cards for before I went into hospital. I've missed some of the but can't be helped!

This is another fathers day card, made for one of my daughters to send to their dad.

I printed onto a textured paper for a different effect, and printed the main image twice so I could decoupage him slightly. The backing papers are printed from the cd-rom, and 'Dad' was stamped using alphabet stamps from Dimension Fourth.

I'm going to make this short and sweet as these antibiotics are knocking me out and I just want to sleep!

This is the fathers day card I've made for my dad. He openly admits he can fall asleep at the drop of a hat, so this image just had to be for him!

Teddy Bo is coloured using pencils. The backing paper is from my stash. The mat behind the image and the die-cut embellishments are cut using Spellbinders Fleur de Lis dies. The oblong mat is embossed using a Sizzix embossing plate.

Update

Thank you all so much for your good wishes, they mean such a lot to me.

I spoke to one of the doctors from the hospital yesterday. They thought I had blood clots in my lungs again, but the good news is I don't. I do have a chest infection which is why I'm feeling so rough, but they have put me on a course of high dose antibiotics so hopefully I should soon start to feel much better. I feel completely washed out and am finding it difficult to stay awake for long, but I am very, very relieved.

So thanks again ladies for your support. You are all very kind.

Out Of Action

Hi Everyone

I'm sorry I've not been visiting your blogs recently, or posting any new cards. I had a spell in hospital last week and am currently on complete rest awaiting scan results. The treatment I am on, combined with the effects of the illness are making me very tired and generally feeling dreadful.

I'll be back to visit you all as soon as I can.

Here Comes Summer

Good Morning

It seems summer is coming to everywhere but Manchester!! I'm sorry to keep moaning about the weather, but the rain does seem to have a detrimental effect on my condition and is getting me down.

So with thoughts (hopes) of the summer, my card for today uses a gorgeous image from The Pamela West Collection cd-rom by Joanna Sheen.

Isn't this a beautiful image? It brings back lots of happy holiday memories to me.

The frame is die cut using a Marianne die, and the backing paper, which unfortunately doesn't show up too well in the phote, is from the same cd-rom. The base card uses white hammered cardstock from Papermill.

My Time To Craft - Very Funny!!!

Good Morning

The challenge over at My Time To Craft is Very Funny!! so I couldn't resisit using some of the decoupage from Joanna Sheen's Viva La Diva's cd-rom.

This is a very simple card. White hammered cardstock is used to make the base card, cut down one edge with 'wave' scissors. Some matting and layering for the image to sit on, and then some ribbon tied into a bow to finish.

Especially For Dad

Good Evening

This is a card I have made for my sister to send to our dad for Fathers Day.

I am one of three girls, and dad loves his garden, so this seemed an appropriate choice of image.

Again, I have used a Joanna Sheen decoupage matted onto silver mirror card. The backing paper is from the Housemouse cd-rom and the various die-cuts have been made using spellbinders dies, cut into pearlescent cardstock.

Well guess what? The rain is back in Manchester. The gardens definately do not need more rain and neither do I!!!!

Making this card has helped cheer up a dull day. This card uses a Housemouse decoupage from Joanna Sheen, backing paper and sentiment printed from the Housemouse cd-rom, as is the co-ordinating insert. Some silver mirror paper and a bright yellow ribbon were also added to the mix.

This card is for some friends of ours who soon celebrate their Anniversary.

Less Is More - Monochrome

Good Evening

Today's challenge over at Less Is More is monochrome.

This is my entry:

My base cardstock is a white pearlescent card. The image is a stamp from Dimension Fourth, which I stamped directly to the card using Vintage Photo Distressed ink. I then heat embossed using detail clear embossing powder.

The sentiment tag is a spellbinders die, again the words were stamped in Vintage Photo and heat embossed. I then added Vintage photo to the tag using cut and dry foam.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Good Evening

Well the sun finally came to Manchester and today has been a scorcher!

My card for today is made using the fabulous Gruffies decoupage from Joanna Sheen.

This is a card my sister asked me to make for her children to send to their daddy for father's day. The backing paper is a lovely blue sky from the House Mouse backing papers cd-rom, edged with a Martha Stewart border punch. The pearlescent blue card I scored on my score board to produce the diamond pattern. The word daddy was stamped using my alphabet stamps from Dimension Fourth.

An Enchanting Lady

Good Afternoon

I hope you're having a good day. It's still cold here in Manchester, and I think just recently we've been getting the rain for the whole of the British Isles! Please come back Mr Sun.

This card is my entry into Rainbow Lady's Challenge which this time is Some Enchanted Evening.

This beautiful image is from Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams cd-rom. This lovely lady is surrounded by Pansies in the most beautiful colours. I printed the backing paper onto Centura Pearl paper to add extra shimmer. The sentiment is lilac pearlescent card and is cut using a spellbinders die. The photo doesn't do justice to the colours in this image, but this is the best I can do today I'm afraid.
