Happy Birthday From House Mouse

I love the house mouse, happy hoppers and gruffies images, they never fail to make me smile and I think when they are decoupaged it really brings them to life.  Decoupage remains my favourite technique although I am finding it more difficult to do with the deterioration in my eyesight and the arthritis in my hands.  What joy!  This card I made for one of my daughters; friends.

The decoupage image was printed from the House-mouse decoupage cd-rom from Joanna Sheen.  I think the backing paper was printed from the same cd-rom but I forgot to make a note, sorry!

I used an 8 x 8 card blank and Lynda Chapman's kraft card for all my mats.

Thelwell - Happy Birthday Megan

My niece Megan has just celebrated her birthday.  She is a big horse lover and this is the card I made for her.  

Over at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog Meg is hosting the challenge which has a theme of 'Anything Goes using something from a craft cd'.  My card uses Crafters' Companions Thelwell cd-rom.

I made up one of the frame cards, which is also decoupaged.  I used a banner die also from crafters companion to create the bunting, and stamped the name using alphabet stamps from Dimension stamps.

Over at the Seize The Birthday Challenge they also have a theme of 'Anything Goes', I would like to enter my card in this challenge also.

CD Sunday Challenge Anything Goes

Hello and welcome to my blog today.

May I start by wishing all my visitors a happy and healthy New Year.

The first challenge of 2019 has begun over at the CD Sunday Challenge and the theme for this challenge is Anything Goes.  Here is my card:

I used The Big One cd-rom from La Pashe to create my card, the decoupaged images and backgrounds were printed from the Flippin' Men section,  I added the decoupage to acetate as you get both a front and back view of the images.

I used a Peel off sentiment, a sentiment from the decoupage sheet, peel off numbers and die cut letters to personalise the card.

Once Upon A Christmas - Merry Christmas

This is another Christmas Card made with the 'Once Upon A Christmas II' cd-rom from Creative Crafting World.  The images on this cd-rom are beautiful.

I embossed an 8 x 8 card blank from Creative Crafting World with a Crafters' Companion embossing folder.  I matted the main image and the sentiment onto a matt gold card, also from CCW.  I decoupaged the baubles using just 1mm foam pads as this card will be going in the post.

Once Upon A Christmas - For A Special Friend

A new challenge is underway over at the CD Sunday Challenge and this time the theme is 'Christmas'.  This is a really good way to encourage me to make more Christmas cards as I am behind with this task as always!  Here is my card:

I embossed an 8 x 8 card blank using my favourite winter themed embossing folder from Crafters' Companion. 

Image printed from Once Upon A Christmas Volume 2 DVD-rom from Creative Crafting World.  I decoupaged the image and the baubles and printed the bow from the disc too.

Matt gold card from Papermill.  Sentiment die-cut using a Crafters' Companion sentiment die.

CD Sunday Challenge - Off The Cutting Room Floor

Hello and Welcome to my Blog today

Yesterday saw the start of a new challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge Blog.  I think it's a very clever challenge theme this time of 'Off The Cutting Room Floor'.  I'm a terrible hoarder and have a folder crammed full of part used pages I've printed off cd-roms.  Unfortunately, I rarely remember to look through this when making cards, but this challenge saw me heading straight to my folder and this is the card I came up with:

My card is made using an image and backing papers from Crafters' Companion BeBunni cd-rom,  I used a 6 x 6 card blank.  I die-cut 2 floral borders from white card stock using a spellbinders die.  I inked through the die to add colour to the petals.

I matted the topper onto white card and attached it to the card front using foam pads.  I die-cut the Happy Birthday sentiment from silver card using a tonic die.

I feel really pleased with myself that I've made a card which made good use of some papers that had been sat in a folder for quite some time, so a big thanks to CD Sunday for giving me the idea.

CD Sunday Challenge - Autumn Days

Hello and welcome to my blog.

This is my entry into the current challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge and this time Jane has chosen the theme of Autumn Days.

This is the birthday card I have made for my brother-in-law.  The beautiful topper and decorative strip across the top are from Hunkydory.  I created an A5 card blank from Kraft card and then added a step to the front of the card so I could put an acetate cover on it.  I used some gold card from matting and layering and embossed some craft card using this beautiful embossing folder covered in leaves.  The ribbon for the bow and the Happy Birthday peel offs are from my stash.

For the inside of my card I re-visited an insert I had recently used.  The paper and insert are from Creative Crafting Worlds Pollyanna Pickering The Story so Far cd-rom.  I think this is lovely wording without being too much.  The card I used is gold and I have no idea why the colour is so out.  I can only think it's because the light wasn't great when I photographed it but I was in a rush to get the card in the post and forgot to check it first!

CD Sunday - G is for ..........

Hello and Welcome

My youngest daughter is 18 soon, so this means that lots of her friends are having their 18th birthdays' too.  Her friends all look forward to getting a handmade card which I think is lovely.  One of her friends is 18 today.  He is studying art at college and this is the card I have created for him:

I used the Fabulous Fella's cd-rom from Katy Sue Designs to create the card.  I created the decoupaged section first which I added to the front of a 7 x 10 inch card from Creative Crafting World.  I added acetate to the shop front section of the card to give it extra strength and hand wrote the name as I couldn't find my alphabet stamp set!  I die-cut the number 18 using Memory Box dies.

This card is for the current CD Sunday Challenge which is G is for .... which in this case is of course Gallery.

CD Sunday Challenge - Second Entry

Good Afternoon

This card is my second entry into the current challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge which is Cool Colours:

I have combined lots of different crafting to make this card.  I've used backing paper from SWALK papercrafting cd-rom from Crafters' Companion, dies to cut the fancy shapes, rubber stamping, water colouring and I've added lace and pearls as additional embellishments.  I even distressed the edges of the paper and then went round the edges with some Tim Holt distress ink!

Happy 80th Birthday

Hello and Welcome

A new challenge has started over at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog and the challenge theme is 'Cool Colours'.

I've been asked to make a card for a friends' mum's 80th birthday with a theme of penguins.  This, I think,fits in perfectly with the challenge.  Here is my card.

I used a square card from Creative Crafting World and matted Ice blue cardstock. I then die-cut a Sue Wilson die from pearlescent white card.  I printed the twisted decoupage image onto glossy photo paper.  The image is by Pollyanna Pickering and is from Creative Crafting World.

I die cut a label using a Spellbinders label die and added a Happy Birthday peel-off.  The number 80's in the corners are also peel-offs.

CD Sunday Challenge - Let's Go Fishing

Hello

This is my entry into the latest challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge which has a theme of 'Let's Go Fishing'.  I don't know any fishermen to send cards to, so my card is a slightly different take on the theme which I hope fits with the challenge acceptably.

This decoupage image is from Crafters Companion, teamed with Couture Creations dies and a rubber stamped sentiment from Lili of the Valley.

The paper and insert are from Creative Crafting Worlds Pollyanna Pickering The Story So Far cd-rom.
