Butterfly Wishes

Hello again

Two posts in one day, whatever is the world coming to!

This is my second entry into the current Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge and my third and final entry into the Creative Crafting World Blog Challenge:

I followed the sketch once again, this time replacing one of the circles with a butterfly to tie-in with the papers I used.

I used Lynda Chapman's white card from Creative Crafting World to create my card blank, and used papers and a topper from the Paper Boutique Butterfly Garden also from Creative Crafting World.  The dies I used were from Spellbinders, Tonic and Crafters' Companion, and the white pearls are also from Crafters' Companion and the pink are Anita's.

Wild At HeART

Hello

I hope those Mothers' among us have had a lovely day today.  My girls have made sure my day has been special, I am very lucky.  I miss my mum terribly, but know she will always be with me.

Thursday night I couldn't sleep at all, so made a card using products from Creative Crafting World and following the current sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches:

The main image and backing papers were bought from Create & Craft recently,  They were bought as a die-cut medley and backing paper medley.  I believe the image is from the Wild at HeART collection, but don't know which collections the backing papers were from.  I thought they picked colours out of the main image, and the the green paper worked really well too.  The card for the mats and layers are various shades of browns from my stash, cut using circle and scalloped circle dies.  The sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley and the orange gems from Create & Craft.  I used white card from Creative Crafting World to make the base card.

Fox In The Wild

Hello

I am trying to loose myself in my crafting this week.  This card again fits in with the current challenge at CD Sunday Challenge - In The Wild:

The backing paper and main image are printed from Pollyanna Pickering's Sketch Book V - British Wildlife cd-rom from Creative Crafting World.  The sentiment is from one of their sentiment popper pads and the doily has been cut on my Silhouette using a cutting file and Lynda Chapman's black card.

In The Wild

Hello and Welcome to my blog today.

Thank you to everyone who left me such lovely messages on my last post.  They mean a lot to me.  At times I find crafting whilst listening to music to be a good distraction, and I found this to be the case today when I needed to make some cards.  This is one of the cards I made which fits in perfectly with the new challenge over at CD Sunday, which this challenge has a theme of 'In the Wild'.

Anyone who has any of Pollyanna Pickerings cd's from Creative Crafting World will be very well equipped to join in with this challenge.  For my card I used the very latest Polly Pickering release - British Wild At HeART:

The image and backing paper used on the front of my card were from the Papercraft Kit that came with the cd-rom.  The die cut frame and sentiment, along with the flowers and leaves are all Paper Boutique dies from Creative Crafting World and I cannot recommend them highly enough.  They all cut like a dream, and even when using the thickest of cards, only require 2 passes through my die-cutting machine, on most occasions, they cut with just one pass.  The card I used was from PaperMill and Lynda Chapman's world of paper.  The gems were from Joanna Sheen.

The cd element of my card is the insert, which was printed from the British Wild at Heart cd-rom:

The inserts come in lots of different sizes and are text-editable.

I would also like to enter my card in the new Creative Crafting World Blog challenge which this time has a theme of 'Anything Goes'.

CD Sunday Challenge - Second Entry

Hello and Welcome

I'm very sad to say that we have had yet more bad news.  I have been trying to distract myself with my crafting but my heart isn't really in it just now.

After loosing my dad on Boxing Day, I recently got the tragic news that my older sister has died from a very rare brain disease.  She was just 50 years old and leaves a husband and 3 children.

I decided to make a second entry for the current challenge over at CD Sunday.  This time I have made a Thank You card:

I've had this cute little bear decoupage in my stash for a while and thought it time he saw the light of day!  The sparkly balloon backing paper was a freebie with a magazine some time ago.  I used red card from PaperMill for my mats and layers.  The dies are my Marianne Designs.  The red gingham paper is my CD element and this was printed from Seraphina Alphabet Collection cd-rom

CD Sunday Challenge - Up, Up and Away

There's a new challenge over at the CD Sunday Challenge and this time the theme is Up, Up and Away.  I needed to make a new baby card for a friend who is expecting a little girl in a few weeks time, so I turned to my favourite bunny to create my card:

The main image and all the backing papers are printed from Crafters' Companion Bebunni Baby cd-rom.  I used silver mirror card for my mats and added card candy from my stash.  The dotty ribbon is from Create and Craft.  The sentiment banner is a Sue Wilson die and the sentiment is a stamp.

I finished the card with a matching insert from the cd-rom.

CD Sunday Challenge - Vintage Love

Hello and welcome to my blog today.

This is my entry into the latest challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge:

I hope it fits the bill.  I used an 8 x 8 square card for my base and black and red card from Lynda Chapman's World of Paper (Creative Crafting World) for my matting and layering and die-cuts.  The image and backing papers are printed from the Gruffies and Happy Hoppers cd-rom from Joanna Sheen.  The sentiment is a stamp from Crafters Companion.

Have a Hoot

Hello

My card today uses lots of items from Creative Crafting World and follows a 'just for fun' recipe that is posted on their blog here.

The papers and topper are all from the Hint of a Hoot Paper Boutique collection.  I used one of the new beautiful square die sets to create the gorgeous frame and the blue square that the topper is sat on.  The daisy dies are also from the Paper Boutique range as is the sentiment.  I used a circle die from the circle doily dies collection to cut the white mat that the topper is sat on.  The beautiful sentiment is also from Paper Boutique.  The dies cut beautifully and I highly recommend them.

I would like to enter my card into the February challenge at Crafty Calendar Challenge which is '2 or more layers.

CD Sunday Challenge - Winter in the Mountains

It's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday Challenge and this time Margaret has chosen a topic of 'Winter in the Mountains'.

Very frustratingly, I find myself unable to sleep once again, so finished off my card for the challenge!

Here is my card:

I used elements from the Pollyanna Pickering Sketchbook Collection Chapter VI The Frozen Lands papercraft kit to create my card.  I used an 8 x 8 white card blank from Creative Crafting World for my base card, with the front folded back to add a bit of interest.

I used grey and black card for my matting and layering.  The sentiments were also from the Papercraft kit.

I added my sentiment to an insert from the Sketchbook Chapter VI cd-rom, printed it out and then added it to the back of my card:

I like these inserts, which can be printed in a whole range of different sizes.  I think they are very elegant.

Get Well Soon

Today I am sharing a card I have made for a friend who had a nasty fall and is now recovering in a recuperation unit.  It's going to be a slow job for her unfortunately.

I couldn't resist buying this beautiful embossing folder after seeing it around blog land. It's by Sheena Douglass, called 'Blowing in the Wind' and is a 3d embossing folder from Crafters Companion.  I used Coredinations card and sanded it back.  The gingham card and ribbon were both from Create and Craft, as was the silver mirror card.  I used a spellbinders die for the sentiment mat, and the butterfly die is a Marianne.  The little pearls are from Joanna Sheen.

J is for January

Hello and welcome to my blog today.  Happy New Year.  I know I'm a bit late wishing this but I've had some very sad news over the Christmas period.  Sadly, my dad passed away on Boxing Day.  I lost my mum almost 5 years ago so this really is the end of an era for me, my sister and our families.

When I feel up to it, I;m trying to lose myself in some crafting.  I turned to CD Sunday Challenge for some inspiration and was delighted to learn that I had won their Christmas Present challenge.  The theme for the latest challenge is' J is for ...... ' Here is my creation:

I went with J is for January.

This is a calendar that I have made to send to my sister.  I used the latest Paper Boutique dies from Creative Crafting World to create the shape of my calendar. and also to cut the beautiful decorative frame.  Can I just say that these are gorgeous dies and they cut like a dream.  The backing papers and Polar Bear image are from Creative Crafting World.  These are from the Paper Kit that came with the Pollyanna Pickering Sketch Book Chapter VI - The Frozen Lands,

I created an easel card and added the calendar tab to the base, this also acts as the stopper.  I added some pretty mother-of-pearl floral gems to the decorative frame to complete my calendar.

Tuesday Morning Sketches Anything Goes Challenge

This is my entry into the current challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches which has a theme of Anything Goes:

My card is made using a 7 x 10 card blank from Creative Crafting World, gold mirror card from Create & Craft and the beautiful image is by Pollyanna Pickering from a Creative Crafting World dvd-rom.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is peel offs and the word Dad die cut using dies from Memory Box.
