Crafty Calendar March Challenge

Good Morning


I can't believe another month has passed by so quickly and it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month we want to see you using your forgotten or old stash, with the OPTIONAL EXTRA - handmade embellishments (such as flowers, buttons, charms etc).


Here is my card:

I used an adorable digi stamps from Di's Digi Downloads and this is the first time I have used it although I have had it for some time.  I coloured the image using Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs, and then matted it onto some black, then beige cardstock.


The backing papers are both from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker cd-rom and I felt were perfect to use with this image.  I used a Martha Stewart punch (one I forgot I had!) to punch the central border from silver linen card.


Finally, I made 2 little fish embellishments from orange foam, which has been in my stash for yonks!  I added teeny googly eyes to complete my card.

To Mum With Love

Good Afternoon

A very warm welcome to my blog today.

My card for today is for Mothers' Day.

This is for my sister to send to mum.

I used the papers provided at Debbees CDs DT Challenge Blog, and followed the sketch over at Craft Challenge Blog.  I also made the card into a shaker to meet the challenge at Truly Scrumptious.

I took an 8 x 8 card blank to which I added a lovely mottled-effect cardstock.  I added the 2 backing papers following the sketch.  I made an acetate window for my shaker, and added glitter beads, hearts and stars to produce the shaker effect.

The sentiment mat is a Spellbinders die with peel offs added.  I chose two co-ordinating ribbons to produce my bow - with the help of the bowdabra of course!

Crafty Sentiments Challenge

Good Afternoon

The current challenge over at Crafty Sentiments Designs is to use 2 designer papers.  Here is my card:

I love this digi stamp from Crafty Sentiments.  She's a real cutie and a joy to colour in.  I printed her on Neenah card and coloured her using Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs.  I used 2 papers from a pad that came free with a magazine, I really love the papers in this pack.  I distressed the edges of the pink paper with my fab distressing tool (such fun!).  I punched the border of the turquoise paper with a Martha Stewart border punch.

I die cut the mat she is sat on with a spellbinders die, and then embossed it with a floral embossing plate.  I added some ink from a soothing sunset big and juicy ink pad with cut and dry foam.  The ribbon is from my stash.  The flower is build a blossom from La Pashe finished with a gem to tie-in with the flowers on the turquoise dp.

Tatty Ted Birthday

Good Morning

I hope you've had a lovely weekend.

The challenge for this week at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog  is recycling.

Here is my card:

I used Do Crafts Especially For You cd-rom for my card and printed the main image from the decoupage section and the backing paper from the same cd.

I took some core'dinations card and ran it through my big shot with a happy birthday embossing folder.  I then sanded it to bring out the core.  I cut the stars using a die-namics die, again from core'dinations.

The ribbon is re-cycled and was wrapped around some pyjamas my daughter got as a present.  I tied it using the Bowdabra, fastened the bow with some bakers twine and then added a couple of star charms.

Cute as a Cupcake

Hello

My card for today uses one of the fabulous images from the Pollycraft, Swings and Slides range of digi stamps.

I printed the image onto Neenah cardstock and coloured her with a combination of Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens.  I die cut the oval with a Nellie Snellen die onto Core'dinations cardstock, as a mat for her to sit on.  The backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's Daisy and friends cd-rom, matted onto the same card.

I took a double edge satin ribbon in pink, and placed a narrow red satin ribbon down the centre.  Two red flower buttons were added to finish my card.

A Walk On The Wild Side

Good Afternoon

I hope you've had some sunshine today, it just makes you feel so much better doesn't it?

My card for today is a birthday card for my dad.  I recently got the Walk On The Wild Side cd-rom from Cupcakecrafting, and this is my first card using the cd.  It's a fabulous cd, with loads crammed onto it.

I printed one of the backing papers onto some white cardstock that I also got from Cupcakecrafting.  The elephant is from the decoupage section, matted onto orange cardstock.

On the reverse of the cardstock I printed another image from the Special Projects section of the cd. I then printed the gorilla image onto a second sheet of card, which I scored to produce the centre of the card.

I stamped the sentiment onto orange card using Dimension Fourth Alphabet stamps and brown memento ink.

Finally, I added a die-cut panel to the back of the card to write on.

Christmas Teddy Bear

Well I know it's a dog, but it reminds me of a Teddy Bear!  How gorgeous is he?

This is a card made using Joanna Sheen's Furry Friends cd-rom.

Printed onto glossy photo paper and matted onto red cardstock.  I printed off two of the backing papers, which were matted onto the same red cardstock.  I used a memorybox die on some red mirror card to produce the tree.  I used a Lili of the Valley Christmas Sentiment stamp, stamped with red ink.

Wishing You Better

Good Afternoon

This is my card for entry into the current Willow Sketchie Challenge:

This lovely digi stamp is from Di's Digi Downloads and is called 'Wish Upon A Star'.  I printed the image onto Neenah card and coloured using a combination of Spectrum Noirs and Promarkers.  I coloured the star with Versamark Ink so I could add the gold lustre embossing powder, I did this three times in all.

I cut around the image using a Spellbinders die, and then cut another layer from orange cardstock.  The papers are from a pad that came recently with a magazine.  The corner is die cut using a Marianne's die.  The sentiment is computer generated.  As I was making a Get Well card, and didn't just want the usual 'Get Well Soon' greeting, I created the sentiment on the computer to tie-in with the name of the stamp, and then printed this twice to produce the shadow effect.

Finally, I threaded 3 heart-shaped buttons with bakers twine and added these to my card.

Sweet Peas For Mum

Good Morning

My card for today is the Mothers' Day card I've made for my mum.  Mum loves Sweet Peas, and my dad has always grown them, but she can't have them in the house because of their scent.  When I saw these Sweet Peas I thought they would be perfect.

I printed 2 of the backing papers from Sheena Douglass' paint fusion cd-rom onto card.  I added to this silver linen card and Centura pearl, and created the book using the new Once Upon A Time embossing board from the Glitter Girls.  I printed a ribbon from the cd to put down the centre of the book and added some gems.  I printed out 3 toppers onto which I stamped 'MUM' using my Dimension Fourth alphabet stamps and then triple embossed the letters before adding them to the card.  I printed the sweet pea decoupage from the cd-rom, and added this to the front.

I made a card stand using Centura Pearl card and, finally, a box for the card to be sent in.

Good Morning

My card for today is made using a combination of die-cuts and embossing folders.

The base card is a pearlescent cream from PaperMill.  I embossed some gold mirror board with D'vine swirls embossing folder.  I then embossed some of the cream pearlescent card with a swirly frame embossing folder.  I printed the wording in gold in the centre of the frame.  I combined 2 gold ribbons to make the bow, and die-cut the flowers and leaves from gold card using Marianne Dies.  A pearl was then added to the centre of the flower.

Winter Fun

Good Afternoon

I'm not doing very well with my plan to get ahead with my Christmas cards so am trying to rectify that a little.

This card combines a few challenges as my mojo had gone awol and I needed all the help I could get!

This follows the current sketch over at Christmas Challenges With Sketches and I found it a lot of fun to follow.  My other aim is to use up some of the stacks of  papers I've got from various magazines, and all the papers on this card are from Making Cards magazines.  I love the paper with the santa and penguins on!  I also used some dark green cardstock which I embossed with a snowflakes embossing folder but sadly this doesn't show up very well in the photo.

The main image uses one of the SWALK Winter Cheer stamps (first inking for this stamp), stamped onto watercolour card and painted with Lyra's.  Finally, three little heart-shaped buttons, threaded with metallic cord, were added to the card.

Jane Shasky 90th Birthday Card

Good Morning

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.

The current challenge over at Crafting When We Can - Is Big Birthdays.

My card is a birthday card for a 90 year old!

I used a 6 x 6 scalloped edge card blank to which I added some vellum using flower brads.  The main image, from Joanna Sheen's Jane Shasky cd-rom, I printed a number of times and decoupaged it.  It is then matted onto silver linen card, and then pink holographic card.  The mat the number is sat on uses the same holographic card and is cut with a Nellie Snellen die.  Peel offs are used for the number.
