Good Evening

I've not had a very good few days pain-wise, hence the lack of blogging.  My card for today will really make you go aaaahhhhhh:

It is made using the Furry Friends cd-rom from Joanna Sheen.  I printed the main image twice onto glossy photo paper so I could decoupage the puppy.  The backing papers are also from the cd-rom.  The border down the centre is edge-punched using an EK Success border punch.  The sentiment tag is a Spellbinders die.

Black and Blue

Good Evening

There's nothing like cutting it fine!  This is my entry into this weeks CD Sunday Challenge which is 'Black and Blue'.  I used my quite recently aquired Dancing With Shadows cd-rom for my card.

I printed the image twice so I could decoupage it for a bit of interest and then matted it onto some silver mirror board, and the backing paper is also from the cd-rom.

The sentiment tag is cut with a spellbinders die, and then a peel off added.

Sparkling Snowflakes

Here is another Christmas Card I've made today:

Unfortunately, it's not an easy card to photograph, in real life it's lovely and sparkly.

The base card using a lovely platimum pearlescent card I got from papermill.  The snowflake is made from pearlescent paper using spellbinders dies, layered up and glittered with sparkling snow glitter.  The border is made from that same paper, edge punched with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch.  The sentiment is stamped in versamark and heat embossed using silver detail embossing powder.  The bottom edge of the card is cut using some fancy-edged scissors and then a couple of embossed lines added.

Less Is More

Good Afternoon

Over at Less Is More this week they are trying to achieve 1000 entries.   This is my contribution:

This is made using a stamp from Joanna Sheen, coloured using metallic pencil.  The mat is a Nellie Snellen die cut into a mat gold cardstock.  A very simple card where the image says it all.

Happy Anniversary

Good Morning

Today is my 22nd Wedding Anniversary.  The weather today is very different to how it was the day we got married.  We had a scorching day!  It was also a derby day, and much to hubby's delight, City beat United 5 - 1!

This is the card I have made:

The image and backing papers are all from the Thomas Kinkade cd-rom from Joanna Sheen, all matted onto some pearlescent silver cardstock.  The dies are spellbinders.  It doesn't show up very well in the photo, but I coloured the peel offs turquoise to tie in.

Some Very Exciting News!!

Christmas Gingerbread Girl

I received an email last week advertising a craft magazine called Simply Homemade.  There were one or two things that appealed to me in it, so I asked hubby to have a look for it when he went shopping.  My card is made using some of the papers that came in the magazine.

Let's Celebrate

Good Morning

A very warm welcome to my new followers.

The current challenge over at Creative Inspirations is Let's Celebrate.  Here is my card:

This card is made using the new Faye Whittaker cd-rom from Joanna Sheen, and this is from one of the decoupage sections.  This is an anniversary card for my sister to send to mum and dad.  They celebrate their anniversary this Saturday.


I printed the decoupage onto matt photo paper and layered it onto gold mirror card.  The corners use a Spellbinders fleur de lis die.

I have been a fan of Faye Whittakers images for a long time, and have stitched many a design in cross stitch.  This double cd-rom is a real treasure trove of images, and I can see me using it over and over again.

I am also entering my card into the Anything Goes - Anything Goes Challenge.

Happy 18th Birthday

Today is my eldest daughter's 18th Birthday!  We've had a busy weekend with lots of visitors and hubby has been very busy catering for them all.  She wanted her birthday to have a 'Woodland Theme' so here is the card I made for her:

Christmas Weaving

Good Afternoon

My card for today uses a new-to-me technique and makes good use of some papers I've had in my stash forever!

This is my first attempt at paper weaving and I was surprised at how long it took to do!  The snowflake in the centre was stamped in versamark and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  The sentiment was also stamped and heat embossed.

Willow Sketchie Challenge

The image is Lili Of The Valley, the backing papers are printed from the SWALK 1 cd-rom, and the die cuts use the Fleur De Lis dies from spellbinders.

Back To School

Good Evening

I am pleased to see I have a couple of new followers.  It's lovely to have your company :o))

I was lucky enough to win some digi stamps from Di's Digi Downloads and this card is made using one of the stamps I chose.

 I made a square card blank from some dark navy cardstock, and then matted some backing paper from Making Cards magazine onto some gold mirror board.  I cut a border from co-ordinating paper and cut one edge with a Martha Stewart punch.

The image was coloured using coloursoft pencils and then matted onto a die-cut circle of the same dark navy cardstock.

I cut some stars using a die-namics die from gold mirror card and dark navy card.  These were then layered up and added to the card.
