Best Friends at Christmas

I thought I'd share another of my Christmas creations with you today, this time a book card.  I've not decided what is going inside the book card as yet. I love the images of the children cuddling up with their dogs.  My daughter often sits with Murphy like this:

I used papers from Making Cards Magazine along with the sentiment.  The layering and the sides of the book were all made using antique gold card.  The poinsettia was created using a Marianne die and the gold ribbon was from my stash.

Buttons and Pins

This is the first card I have made using the Shabby Chic Haberdashery cd-rom form Debbi Moore.  I had such fun making this card:

I distressed all around the edges of the backing paper with my distressing tool and then matted it onto gold linen card.

I cut out the dress bodice and then cut a circle from a co-ordinating paper and folded it to make the skirt.  Again I distressed the edges of the skirt.

I stamped the sewing machine from Joanna Sheen's haberdashery stamp set, and the buttons and thimble image from Debbi Moores stamp set, onto shrink plastic and attached the twine before shrinking them.  I then threaded the twine through a button, which was attached to a picot edged circle, along with a couple of pins.

A few buttons were added to the card for extra dimension.

Less Is More - One Layer

It seems like ages since I joined in with the Less Is More challenge so decided to challenge myself today.  This week the challenge is to create a one layer card with the theme of foliage.  Here is my card:

I find that one layer cards take a lot more planning and this one was no exception.  I had bought a new embossing folder earlier this week which fit the challenge perfectly.  I embossed some Centura Pearl card with the embossing folder and then scored a further line of embossing to separate it from the rest of the card.
The stamps are both from a set of sentiments, stamped using Big and Juicy Spice Ink pad.  Finally I coloured some areas of embossing using Spectrum Noir pens.

Birthday Wishes from Lottie

Whilst trying to unearth my craft desk this afternoon, I came across this delightful decoupage of Lottie all cut out ready.  I followed the current sketch over at A and T Challenge Blog to come up with my card:

Backing paper from same cd printed onto satin finish printer paper.

I didn't have a doily large enough, so I cut two in half and pieced them around the image.

Finally a vertical sentiment was added to complete the card.

I have made a start on my drawer calendars for 2013, these are always very popular.  In the drawer is a post-it pad and a pencil.

Decoupage from Forever Friends cd-rom, printed onto super smooth decoupage paper.

I printed a backing paper onto white card and added a toning card from Papermill.

I used a Martha Stewart border punch.

Eyelets and button on the drawer are from my stash.
