Splish Splash Splosh Little April Showers

Hello

My card for today uses the Adorable stamps and cd-rom by Jayne Nestorenko.

I stamped the little girl in London Fog Memento ink and coloured her using my Spectrum Noirs.  The background scene is printed from the cd-rom and matted onto gold mirror card which I embossed.  I added an acetate wrap to the card and attached the little girl to the acetate.

A Guiding Light

Hello

My card for today is for the current challenge over at Joanna Sheen Challenge - It's A Man's World.  Here is my card:

This is made using the Thomas Kinkade cd-rom from Joanna Sheen, and is a fabulous triple cd set.  So useful for men's cards.

I find there's something very magical about lighthouses and I love this image with the waves crashing against the rocks.  I printed the image onto glossy photo paper, and the backing papers onto a textured paper.  All the matting and embellishments use a gorgeous pearlescent card I got from PaperMill.

I used various Spellbinders Fleur de Lis dies, I think these work so well with seasidey images.  The largest die reminds me of a ships wheel, and I decided to add some spirelli to this shape using a variegated thread.  Bakers twine was added to another die and finally some little sea shells to complete the card.

Fairy Among The Flowers

Good Evening

This is my second post for today, whatever next? ;)

I've combined a few different challenges to come up with my card, and here it is:

I followed the sketch over at Totally Gorjuss for my layout.  I used the bingo challenge at TotallyPaperCrafts and I selected Blue, Die-cut and Flowers.  I used an image from Pollycraft and coloured her with spectrum noirs.  I made the flowers out of fabric to tie in with the current challenge at Pollycraft Challenge.

The backing paper for the card is from my stash.  The mat she is sat on is a Spellbinders die cut from Core'dinations card.  The decorative strip across the card is also Core'dination, embossed using a Darice Embossing folder available from Crafters Companion.  The flourish behind the flowers is also a Spellbinders die, cut from white card.

Willow Sketchie Challenge

Hello

A big warm welcome to my new followers, it's a pleasure to have your company.

The current challenge over at Willow Sketchie is a fab sketch together with the option of lots of layers.  Here is my card:

I used a decoupage image from the Tulip and Friends cd to provide my layers.  The backing papers are both from the cd, matted onto white cardstock.  I added the number on a Spellbinders label.

I decorate the inside of my card to tie-in with the front:

Teddy Bo and Bea and a Giraffe

I hope you've enjoyed the Easter Weekend.

The current challenge over at Teddy Bo Challenge is Spring has Sprung.  Here is my card:

As soon as I saw this image at Teddy Bo and Co I knew that resistance was futile, I LOVE giraffes!

The image is coloured with Spectrum Noirs, Promarkers and Coloursoft pencils.  This was matted onto some gold linen then yellow card.  I embossed some Core'dinations card using a Darice woodgrain embossing folder and then sanded it slightly.  This was then matted onto black cardstock.  I punched a strip of Core'dinations with my Martha Stewart rabbit punch, then created the flowers using various floral punches and 'typical' spring colours.

I took an 8 x 8 card onto which I matted the adorable backing paper which was from a Making Cards magazine.  I used an EK success punch on some cream and pale blue paper and used the outline from the cream and butterflies from the blue, to produce the decoration for the top corner.

I couldn't leave out Teddy Bo and Bea so they are 'hiding' on the inside of my card:

I took a second 8 x 8 card to create the middle and lined it with Embossed Core'dinations card for the tree trunk and owl backing paper for the sides.  The pansies are Build A Blossom from La Pashe.

Christmas Spirelli

Good Morning

My card for today is a Christmas card.  I so enjoyed having a go at the Spirelli challenge the other day, I decided to have another go!

This card is made using papers from Making Cards magazine.  I used silver mirror card for all the matting, and punched along the bottom edge of the main image with a Martha Stewart punch.

The circles were cut using a Nellie Snellen die, and after adding the images to the centre of each, I used silver metallic thread for the Spirelli.  I was trying to mirror the design in the backing paper.

Shall We Dance?

Good Afternoon

The current challenge over at Whoopsi Daisy Challenge is a fab sketch to follow.  Here is my card:

I used one of the delightful images from the Daisy and Friends cd-rom from Joanna Sheen, I used a pre-coloured image as I wanted to decoupage the image.  I changed the spots on her tutu to brown to tie-in with the rest of the card.  I used a Nestabilies die to cut the shape of the mat from dark brown linen card.  I then created a faux nesties around the image.

The backing papers were from a magazine ages ago, and I thought went really well with the image.  The sentiment mat is cut using another nestie and the butterfly is a Marianne die.

I created the floral arrangement using Mulberry flowers and leaves, some feathers from my stash and a hat pin.

Crafty Calendar April Challenge - Egg-stra Special

Good Morning

Happy Easter everyone.  I hope you have a lovely weekend.

It's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge and this month our theme is Egg-stra special (Easter egg, chick in egg or even a dinosaur egg...anything egg related!)  OPTIONAL EXTRA - More than 1 fold in card or project.

For my card I used Joanna Sheen's Cardmakers Year cd-rom.  I printed the image 5 times so I could decoupage it, and I matted the image onto core'dinations card.  For my base card I used Centura Pearl card.  I used some delightful Easter Egg ribbon across the front, with a sentiment mat created from gold linen card using a Spellbinders die.  The vines up each side were made using a Marianne die and pearlescent green paper.  The flowers are punched with a Nellie Snellen punch for the large flowers and a Papermania punch for the smaller, tiny cream pearls were added to the centres.


Here is a side view of the card to give you an idea of the folds.

A Spirelli Challenge

Good Evening

I hope you've had a lovely day.

My card for today uses Spirelli, I found it a very therapeutic technique!

I die-cut my shapes from pearlescent card using my Nellie Snellen Round Lily dies.  I then used a mother-of-pearl effect thread on two of the shapes and then layered them together.

Using pink pearlescent card, I embossed using D'vine Swirls embossing folder and matted this onto silver mirror card.  I printed a backing paper from the Paintbox Poppers cd-rom, onto pearlescent paper.  I then matted this onto silver mirror card before attaching to my white card base.  Lilac pearls were added in each of the corners to complete the card.

Happy Birthday To You

There are lots of photos in this post!

Today is my sisters 40th birthday.  If you happen to look in - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, have a great day.

I wanted to make her more of a keepsake than a card, and here is what I came up with.

I couldn't get the whole thing in the photo, but you'll see it in more detail further down the page.

We had lots of the Beatrix Potter books when we were little, so it was a very appropriate range to use to make the card.

This is the front of the card, using a Benjamin bunny frame card from The World of Beatrix Potter cd-rom.  I used white centura pearl card for the card base.

Next I printed a decoupage image from the Mrs Tiggy-Winkle cd-rom.  I matted the image onto pearlised card, and cut the sentiment tag from the same card using a Spellbinders die.  The backing paper from the cd-rom was printed onto pearl paper, and then inked around the edge using Soothing Sunset Big and Juicy ink.  I inked the flowers on the doily using the same ink.

The next page features the adorable Peter Rabbit, again from the decoupage section of the cd-rom.  The image is matted onto green pearl card, cut along the top with a Martha Stewart punch.  The die cut is Spellbinders with some gems added.  The backing paper printed onto pearl paper, and inked around the edges with Pine Needles Distress Ink.

Next is the gorgeous Guinea Pig from Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes, printed from the decoupage section.  This time the image is matted onto Core'dinations cardstock.  The backing paper was inked around the edges using rusty hinge distress inks, and the die cut shapes, all cut using Spellbinders Persian dies, were inked in the die with Rusty Hinge.

 This page features a decoupage from The Tale of Two Bad Mice cd-rom. Matted onto deep blue pearlescent card.  The sentiment tag is a Spelllbinders die and the ribbon border a Marianne die with blue gingham ribbon threaded through.  The backing paper was inked around the edges with Faded Jeans distress ink.

Next we have the delightful Jemima Puddle-duck, once again from the decoupage section of the cd-rom.  Matted onto pearlescent green card, edge punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  Pink pearls were added along the border.  The corners are Spellbinders Fleur de Lis and the flower from my stash.  The backing paper was once again inked round the edge using cut n dry foam and Pine Needles distress ink.

For this page I used decoupage from the gorgeous Tale of Timmy Tiptoes cd-rom.  I used core-dinations card stock and a Darice embossing folder to get the tree-trunk effect.  I sanded the cardstock to add to the effect.  I cut some leaves from 2 different colours of core'dinations card to make the leaves, which I added at random around the image.

Now we have Mr Jeremy Fisher, and yes, you've guessed it, from the decoupage section of the cd-rom.  Core'dinations card is used for the mats again, the sentiment mat cut with a Spellbinders die.  A few little gems  were then added.  Pine Needles distress ink was used again on this page to ink around the edges.

On the last page I chose this delightful decoupage image from The Tale of Tom Kitten cd-rom and matted it onto pink pearlescent card.  I love the backing paper on this page. I added pink and green gems along the botton of the page, and made a double bow using pink gingham ribbon with a flower added to the centre to complete this page.

I typed the greeting for the card, and then on the reverse side of the other pages I printed backing papers from one of the cd-roms in various colours and matted them onto silver mirri card.

Finally, I made a box from Centura Pearl card.

It took me a week in all to make this card and I thoroughly enjoyed making it and am delighted with the result.

Easter Duckling

I've another Easter card to share with you today, again made with the lovely Giordano decoupage from Joanna Sheen.

I followed the sketch over at Willow Sketchie Challenge, along with their theme of embossing.

I used an 8 x 8 card blank and embossed some core'dinations cardstock.  I used a co-ordinating backing paper from an old issue of Making Cards magazine which I matted onto silver mirror card.  The sentiment mat was cut with a spellbinders die and I added a glittery flower and some silver leaves to complete the card.

The Easter Bunny

I hope this morning finds you well.

I'd like to start by saying a belated Happy Ruby Wedding Anniversary to my lovely blog friend Edna, I'm sorry I wasn't around yesterday, I hope you both had a lovely day.

My card for today uses a decoupage image from Joanna Sheen's Giordano range:

Isn't this image adorable?  I matted the image onto gold linen card.   I took an 8 x 8 base card and embossed along the bottom edge using the Glittergirls Border Fold board.  I then went around all sides of the card using pink and yellow ink from the Big and Juicy Soothing Sunset pad, applied using cut n' dry foam.  The fab ribbon I receive from a fellow Sheenie in an angel envelope last weeks (I love it, thank you :D).  The yellow panel is core'dinations cardstock, embossed using a Darice border embossing folder and then sanded to reveal the core.  This was also matted onto gold linen card.
