Molly Blooms

Good Evening

I was lucky enough to win a couple of Molly Blooms stamps in a Challenge last week, and have used one of them on todays card.

Isn't she lovely?  I have a friend due to start a new job, and the place she will be working is called Molly's, so this seemed a very appropriate stamp to use.

I followed the sketch over at Paper Sundaes Challenge.  Molly is stamped onto watercolour card and coloured with Lyra's.  The shape Molly and the sentiment are on are spellbinders.  The papers are from Making Cards magazine.  The sentiment is Lili of the Valley and the gems are from Joanna Sheen.

My Little Sunflower

Good Afternoon

Those of you who visit me regularly will know of my soft spot for Teddy Bo and Bea, so I just couldn't resist participating in The Teddy Bo's top tips lesson.

Jill has provided us with a fab tutorial to make a post-it easel card, and here is mine:

Who could possible resist that little face?

Teddy Bea is coloured with coloursoft pencils.  The papers are from an issue of Making Cards magazine.  The dies are spellbinder.

This is now sat on my craft desk so I can see that lovely face all the time (and hopefully will be able to find my post-it pad easier!!!).

TIP - My tip to share is if when matting and layering you find you sometimes go a bit wonky, apply DST then photo glue over the top.  Not only does this give you additional time to line up correctly, but it gives extra strength and adhesion to your card.

Snow Is Falling

Good Morning

I have been meaning to get cracking with my Christmas cards for some time, and the arrival yesterday of my new spellbinders ironwork motifs dies encouraged me to get going (well make one card!).

I used some Centura pearl card, which I embossed with a very neglected snowflakes embossing folder.  All the die-cuts are cut from pearlised paper and then sparkling snow glitter added.   A diamante was added to the centre of the large snowflake.  The smaller snowflakes are made using punches.

A Note For You

Good Afternoon

Back with my second challenge card for today.

This card follows the current Willow Sketchie Challenge and uses one of their digi stamps.

Winnie owl is coloured using Coloursoft pencils and for a change I decided to paper piece her skirt.  All the papers are from a free pad that came in Quick cards magazine, I think they're really pretty.  The main image and all the papers are matted onto gold mirror board.  The little flowers are cut with a Marianne die and double layered.  A gem is placed in the centre.  The flowers on the digi are embellished with flowersoft, and once again a teeny tiny gem is added to the centres.  This was a really lovely sketch to follow.

A Present For You

Good Morning

Emma loved her first day back at school and is very happy in her new class.  Murphy missed her terribly and is still sulking!!!

My card for today uses a Lili Of The Valley image.  This was one of 20 images that came free in a magazine.

I coloured the image using Coloursoft pencils.  The backing papers I've had for some time!  I punched the edges of one of the layers with a Martha Stewart border punch as I thought it worked well with the image.  The corner is a Marianne die with some little gems added.  The stars are cut using a die-namics dies, layered together.  I tied a bow into some bakers twine and then added two star charms to the tails of the bow.  The flower are the top of the card is a brad.

The inside of the card is decorated to co-ordinate with the front.

Proud As A Peacock

Hello Again

Back with my second card for today.

This weeks challenge over at The CD Sunday Challenge is 'Inspired by a Peacock'.  I immediately thought of Joanna Sheen's Elegant Fans cd-rom, as I thought the fan could represent the peacocks tail.  When I looked on the disc I found there was a decoupaged fan featuring a peacock.

I printed the decoupage onto glossy photo paper.  The backing paper was printed onto Centura Pearl paper but I wasn't too happy with the result, so rather than waste it, I ran it through my big shot with a 'Happy Birthday' embossing folder.  I couldn't resist adding the feathers, it just had to be done!  The sentiment was on the decoupage sheet and then 3 pearls were added to complete the card.

Forty Winks

Good Morning

My youngest daughter has gone back to school today, she is now in Year 6!!!  She was so excited, really looking forward to her new class.  I'm finding it way too quiet here!!!

I have decided to have another go at the current Crafty Calender Challenge, and also to  put my name forward to be considered for their DT.  If you don't try you don't know!

Peace and Quiet

Good Morning

It's absolutely bouncing down here today!!  Hope you have better weather.

My card for today is made using the Thomas Kinkade cd-roms from Joanna Sheen.

This was one of those cards I thought would be quick to make but actually took ages!

I printed this beautiful image onto matt photo paper and then divided it into 3 equal sections, the sections were than individually placed onto gold linen card and then the 3 pieces matted onto a green leather effect card stock.  The backing paper is also from the cd-rom and this was printed onto pearlescent paper.

A matching insert was added to complete the card.

Teddy Bea In The Pink

My card for today features the adorable Teddy Bea, and here she is!

For once, I remember to choose my backing papers before I coloured my image!!  The backing papers are from an earlier issue of Making Cards, matted onto black card.  Bea is coloured using Coloursoft pencils.  The ribbon and flowers are from my stash and the flourishes are cut using a Marianne die.

Just Practising

Good Afternoon

My card for today uses a fab digi stamp from Pollycraft and here it is:

This is the first of their stamps that I've purchased, but will be adding to my collection very soon.

The image is coloured using Coloursoft pencils.  The various backing papers are from my stash, punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.  The stars are all cut from felt using a die-namics die, and the greeting is a peel-off.

Ballerina Bea

Good Afternoon

We've actually got sunshine today!  Hopefully September will be better than August!

My card for today features my favourite bear, Teddy Bea.

Bea is coloured with Coloursoft pencils and some stickles added to her wand and wings to add some sparkle.

The base card is cut using a Marianne die using a lovely rich brown cardstock from Papermill.  The backing paper is printed from a Crafters Companion cd-rom.  It's either Appley Dapply or SWALK but I'm afraid I can't remember which one!  The little flowers are created using a Nellie Snellen die and little pearls added to the centre.  Three co-ordinating gems are used to complete the card.
