This weeks' challenge over at the CD Sunday Challenge really did have me challenged this week, the theme for us to follow is Art Nouveau.  After a fair bit of searching through my cd-rom's I came up with this card:

Happy Birthday Niece

Hello and welcome to my blog today.

I was lucky enough to win a gift voucher to Which Craft UK and one of the items I selected was this delightful Sarah Kay stamp 'Pia'.  My new goodies arrived this morning and as I had to make a birthday card for my niece, put the stamp into action straight away.  Here is my card:

Christmas Angel

I was looking through my magazine stash yesterday and found a Molly Blooms Christmas Carnival magazine that I bought ages ago and completely forgot about!  Disgraceful, I hadn't even opened the packet!  I decided this was a good opportunity to add to my Christmas card pile for next Christmas, so chose a favourite sketch over at Christmas Challenges (with sketches) to produce the following card:

Everything on the card (other than the base card itself) came with the magazine.  All the papers are double-sided, which I find a bit frustrating as I wanted to be able to use them all!

I stamped the image onto Neenah card using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink and coloured using Spectrum Noir pens

Papers all distressed around the edges with a distressing tool and then Vintage Photo distress ink added using cut n dry foam.

Joy die used to die cut the square (I got this die for Christmas and I LOVE it!) and then I inked through the die with Vintage photo.

Bow created following instructions in the magazine and then a little bell from a Chocolate reindeer added.

Star stamped onto white shrink plastic and coloured using coloursoft pencils.

A very warm welcome to my new followers, it's a pleasure to have your company.

This weeks' challenge over at Willow Sketchie Challenge is a sketch to follow and/or anything goes.  I've followed the sketch for my calendar, although I've turned it on its' head!  I didn't intend turning it on its' head, but realised too late I had but the backing paper on upside-down so had no choice really!!!!!

An Unusual Snowflake

Good Morning,

I hope you're having a nice relaxing Sunday.

I've decided I'm going to try and do 3 craft-related things this year which are - post on my blog every day, make Christmas cards regularly through the year, use up some of my stash.  I'm sure you won't be in the least bit surprised by any of these because as a crafter I think we all regularly say we're going to do this, but I am going to try much harder this year.

My card for today follows the current sketch over at Fetch-A-Sketch and is a Christmas card:

Card blank created from black linen card from PaperMill.

Couture Creations embossing folder used on gold linen card from Create & Craft, corners rounded using a punch.

Cadbury purple ribbon from MeiFlower.

Marianne snowflake die used with black glitter card from stash.

I don't know why it is that even with a card that's meant to be quick I manage to take an age to do it!  I must have spent almost an hour faffing about trying to decide what die to use, then what colour, card etc.  I drive myself mad sometimes!

Sketchy Colours

This is my last post for today I promise.  I'm back with yet another of my calendars, this time following the sketch over Sketchy Colours and the colour theme of white/cream:

I followed this sketch for another project earlier in the week, and it was only when I came to post it I realised that I'd forgotten to follow the colour theme!

6 x 6 easel card created from pearlescent white card from PaperMill.

I embossed some more of the card using a Darice Damask embossing folder, and a strip of card using a border embossing folder, both from Crafters' Companion.

I used my new Marianne Petra's Oval die, and embossed the centre with a butterfly embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  I added some feathers, a hat pin and some leafy fronds. I die cut some flowers using a Memory box die and punch the centre from white glitter card using a punch.

The buttefly is also made using a punch and I punched 2 for extra dimension.

I added some pearls from Joanna Sheen.

I die cut a smaller oval from the Marianne's die set to which I attached the calendar tab.

Today is our first challenge of the New Year at Crafty Calendar Challenge and our theme is What's New - New Home, New Job etc.  I have made another of my desk calendar's wishing the recipient a Happy New Year.

Sketch N Stash has a fabulous sketch for us to follow in their current challenge.  I needed to make a card for my Brother-in-Laws birthday.  Here is my card:

Wellington decoupage image, matted onto brown linen card cut using a Spellbinders die.

Backing papers are Papermania and came in a goody bag along with the border strip and the buttons.

The sentiment tag was cut with a Spellbinder die and the fleur de lis accents are also Spellbinders.
