Crafty Calendar Challenge - November

Hello

Today we launch a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge, I do hope you'll be able to join us.  Our theme for this month is Wrap Up Warm with the option to include Twine, Fibres or String.  We are sponsored by Cedar Chest Designs and we were given some lovely images to create with. Cedar Chest Designs will give the winner of this challenge $10 to spend in store.  This is a new store with lovely digital images and papers and cutting files,  I chose this great image called Georgia and the Snowman.  Here is my card:

8 x 8 fancy edged card blank from CupcakeCrafting.

Image printed onto Joanna Sheen's Elegance Satin Paper and coloured with Spectrum Noirs.

Snowflake backing paper printed from Swalk Winter Cheer cd-rom from Crafter's Companion.

The mitten backing paper which was perfect for the challenge (and decided my colours for me!) came free in a magazine.

I used Core'dinations card for all my matting.

Martha Stewart's Snowflakes punch around the page set was used to create the mat the image is sat on, together with the central strip to which I added some twine.  A stocking charm was added as I felt this again tied in with the theme so well.

The corner die was cut using a Marianne die.

The sentiment mat is a Nellie Snellen die, the sentiment is LOTV stamped in silver metallic ink and the three snowflakes are the 'waste' from the punched borders.

I've an easel card to share with you today made using my very much neglected Loony Tunes cd-rom:

I printed one of the images out twice so I could decoupage it slightly.

The backing paper is printer from the same cd, as are the sentiments.

I used a Martha Stewart border punch and an X-cut die to produce the letters.

Green and blue card and mirror board from my stash.

Birthday Wishes

My card for today uses papers from Making Cards magazine:

A5 card blank

Martha Stewart punch used to create the border along with some gingham ribbon.

I embossed some cardstock using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

A Nellie Snellen die (Flower Circles) was used to create the mat the poppy is sat on.  I folded some light card to create the Rosette effect (at least that was the idea!) and I used a template to create the poppy petals, finish off in the centre with a Nellie Snellen punch.

I have a card to share with you today that was a special order from a friend.  My friend told me what she wanted on the card and I then came up with the following design:

Two's Company

My card for today is made using one of my Paper Nation cd-roms.  I've been a fan of these images for a long time and was delighted recently to get my hands on the cd's.

A5 card blank, Red card from PaperMill used for matting.

White card embossed using one of the glitter girls boards (sorry I can't remember the name of it)

I embossed and cut out the blue cardstock and added the midget gems

The image is from the decoupage section of the cd

The sentiment is from LOTV

Corner stamps are Midget gem frostings from the glitter girls, heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder.  Tiny orange gems from same set.

Sentiment mat is a Spellbinders die, and I've used a peel off greeting and border peel offs around the edge of the design.

A warm welcome to my blog on this rather chilly morning.

My card for today is made using a Docrafts cd Woodland Folk and Friends:

I chose to work with an image from the decoupage section (surprise, surprise, lol), and I printed the image onto glossy photo paper.

I embossed some Core'dintations cardstock with a Woodgrain embossing folder by Darice and sanded it slightly.

The backing paper is printed from a My Crafts studio cd-rom called Little Miracles.

I've combined a number of challenges to create my card for today.  I followed the sketch at Crafting When We Can, the theme at The CD Sunday Challenge to create a Christmas Card using items from a cd, and the theme at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge which is Carol Singing.  Here is my card:

Joy corner die, Marianne snowflake dies, Memory Box Frosty Border die, all used with white glitter card.

Nellie Snellen star wreath die used as a mat for the sentiment, which is a LOTV stamp, stamped in silver ink and heat embossed with crystal transparent embossing powder.

A Birthday Rose

Good Morning

My card for today features one of the delightful  images from Lili of the Valley.  I followed the sketch over at Creative Inspirations and here is my card:

One thing's for sure - it's definitely pink!

Pink sorbet card from Papermill embossed using a Beatrix Potter embossing folder from Crafters Companion.  For a change I decided to use both the embossed and de-bossed side.

The papers are from some old copies of Making Cards Magazine.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - All Things Spooky

Good morning.

It's the first Saturday of the month which means it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month our challenge is All Things Spooky with the optional extra of Recycle Something.

We get quite a few trick or treaters on Halloween so I decided to make a little gift bag and fill it with sweets.

I used the digi stamp 'Cherry Kisses Witch' from Pollycraft and coloured her with my Spectrum Noir pens.
I cut an oval mat from Core'dinations card to frame my image.
I printed the paper from Joanna Sheen's Cardmakers Year cd-rom onto a light weight card.
The ribbon is my 'Recycled item', this came wrapped around some pyjamas.

I think I'm going to make a few more of these in readiness!
